Mission
[edit]AfroHeritage and Open Access Initiative is dedicated to preserving and promoting African cultural heritage while fostering a culture of open knowledge sharing and innovation. We aim to empower Africa communities by making knowledge and information easily accessible, advocating for the development of new ideas, and providing the tools and resources necessary to enhance transparency and accountability in society. Through education and community engagement, we strive to create a future where African heritage is celebrated, and every individual has the opportunity to contribute to and benefit from collective learning and societal advancement.
Objectives
[edit]- To promote and facilitate open access to educational resources and knowledge exchange programs among communities, fostering collective learning.
- To advocate for and create an environment conducive to innovation and the development of new knowledge, driving societal advancement.
- To work towards making knowledge and information easily accessible to the public, ensuring that all individuals have the tools they need for informed decision-making.
- To empower people and communities with the knowledge, tools, and resources required to foster increased transparency and accountability in society.
- To preserve and promote African cultural heritage through education and community engagement, ensuring that the richness of AfroHeritage is celebrated and passed on to future generations.

Proposed Activities
[edit]- Organize a workshop to train editors and interested volunteers how to contribute highly effectively and achieve retention of articles and edits on Wikipedia and her sister's projects.
- Organize a "AfroHeritage" workshop: Organize outreach in underrepresented states in Africa. This involves taking pictures of important cultural buildings, sites, artefacts, places and monuments in over 200 towns in the States.
- Organize a "Wiki loves traditional sounds" competition. This would involve article picture, and sounds upload on wikicommons and Wikipedia on cultural and traditional sounds contributions that relates to the theme
- Contribute to Open street map
