Fundraising translation feedback

edit

Hey Morphypnos,

I wanted to ask for your help. As you may be aware we have been running banners on many language wikis. We have a lot of new content this year and I really want to conduct a thorough review of our translations. This is a combination of feedback from the community, readers, donors as well as those with professional translator experience. This will help us ensure the highest quality of translations used in our messaging.

To help us out with this I wonder if you would be willing to give us feedback in french using This Link

Simply follow the simple instructions on that page and if you have any questions feel free to contact me on my talk page.

Many Thanks

Warning every wiki

edit

[1]. Warning every wiki where a user has edits is a mandatory part of the global ban request process, by policy, see Global bans. They never did complete it, I think.

However, the DanielTom ban attempt shows a defect in the process. The policy requires certain preconditions be set up before a global ban discussion may begin. If any individual can create an actual global ban discussion, on their own initiative, then a massively disruptive process, with notice going, possibly, to many wikis, can be initiated by a user who does not understand global ban process and appropriate application or who misappplies it. That happened with the DanielTom RfC. Hence my intention is to work on the Global ban policy, probably to set up a pre-RfC, a local process that cannot, itself, create a local ban. I.e., the most that consensus there could do is to allow filing of the actual request. The user would be notified, but only on the most active wiki or maybe a few wikis. The preban process would only decide on the basic preconditions for a global ban discussion, it would not debate benefit/harm, though there are aspects of the ban preconditions that require some judgment, and it would decide those. "Abuse," for example, as in the allegations of DanielTom, is a judgment call. Is criticism of administrative behavior "abuse"? It could be, but it might also be not abusive.

Because of possibly narrow participation, the preliminary RfC would not prejudice the final one, but a full ban discussion, with the possibility of leading to a ban conclusion, would not be allowed unless the pre-RfC shows consensus on the preconditions; if started prematurely, it would be immediately closed or frozen. --Abd (talk) 19:14, 5 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Superprotect status

edit

Dear Morphypnos, since you are an administrator on a wiki from which no user participated in this discussion, I'd like to make sure you are aware of some recent events which may alter what the Wikimedia Foundation lets you do on your wiki: Superprotect.

Global CSS/JS migration

edit

Hello Morphypnos. You have global scripts in User:Morphypnos/global.js, which you import using your local JS pages. Since August 2014, your global.js and global.css pages are loaded automatically on all wikis. Since you already import them yourself, you may experience script errors or tools being added twice. Do you want me to fix this by removing the imports from your local pages using Synchbot (without changing any other content)? —Pathoschild 20:38, 05 July 2015 (UTC)

Hi again! I haven't heard back from you, so I'll assume you don't want to do this. Feel free to leave me a message or add a Synchbot request if you change your mind. :) —Pathoschild 17:37, 09 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Removal of global rollback

edit

Hello La fée Didier. I hope that you are okay. Unfortunately your global rollback permissions have been removed because you have been inactive (no edits or log actions) in Wikimedia wikis for more than 2 years (at this moment your last edit dates back: 2018-04-28, and your last log action: 2018-03-31). Per policy "Global rollbackers who have not contributed to any Wikimedia project for the past 2 years should have their global rollback rights removed for inactivity". Please let me know if there's a mistake or if you have any questions or concerns. Best regards, —MarcoAurelio (talk) 11:34, 13 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
