Question about licensing update
Hi, I have some questions about licensing update, and I hope you are the true person to ask them. I contribute to Turkish Wikinews and this project's license is CC-BY 2.5 and I wonder if this project is affected by licensing update, should we change our license to CC-By-SA 3.0? Also, there is a new version of CC-BY license. It is 3.0. But all wikinews are using CC-BY 2.5. What is the difference between these two versions? Can we use CC-BY 3.0 instead of 2.5? Thanks in advance.Srhat 17:39, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not an expert in the choices behind the licensing of Wikinews, which is a very different kind of project from Wikipedia. I wouldn't assume that the Wikipedia update affected your project -- you'd do better to ask other Wikinewsies, like Brian McNeil.MGodwin 19:36, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Website infringing the Wikipedia trademark
This website: http://www.uiquipedia.org/Portada uses the name uiquipèdia that in Spanish and in Catalan has almost the same spelling that Wikipedia and is also almost the same name used by Asturian version of Wikipedia: Uiquipedia.
In Spanish Wikipedia there is an article about this site. Now it is under discussion in order to decide its deletion: http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uiquipèdia http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Consultas_de_borrado/Uiquipèdia
In English Wikipedia it was already deleted: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Uiquipèdia
But there are also images in commons from this site, giving credit to it and linking to it: http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Masia-en_València.jpg&oldid=37157407 and articles in Spanish Wikipedia translated from it, and linking to it: http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plaza_del_Ayuntamiento_(Valencia)
I wonder if we should act against this use of the registered trademark or at least delete any stuff coming from this site and any link to it.
Before proposing the decision to the community I would like to hear your professional opinion.
Thanks.
