My adminship at shn.wikipedia expired at 6th October 2020. So I want to request for adminship. I hope I can get a long time adminshiop. Thanks. Saimawnkham (talk) 06:48, 8 November 2020 (UTC)

bennylin@jvwikt

I'm already long-term sysops in multiple projects such as id.wikipedia and id.wikt. I'm requesting a permanent adminship in jv.wikt. If you're just gonna give a temp admin, then don't bother. Bennylin 11:38, 19 October 2020 (UTC)Steward note: This is also a request for int. adminship. --Martin Urbanec (talk) 12:19, 30 October 2020 (UTC)

On hold until 2020-10-22 @Bennylin: Per the guidelines, 5 voters who are an active participant of the project are necessary for a permanent adminship to be granted. Right now, in your case, only two persons with more than 50 edits at jv.wikt voted. Per the guidelines, the adminship will be temporary (possibly for a year rather than 6 months, given you are apparently trusted at several projects), unless that changes before the voting finishes. --Martin Urbanec (talk) 19:53, 19 October 2020 (UTC)
Apropo, is this a request only for interface adminship? Or do you want both flags (sysop and interface-admin)? --Martin Urbanec (talk) 19:57, 19 October 2020 (UTC)
Both flags please. Bennylin 00:18, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
@Bennylin: I granted one year temporary sysop for now. Please enable 2FA before I can give you interface adminship. Best, --Martin Urbanec (talk) 12:28, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
Bennylin, still waiting. --Base (talk) 11:32, 4 November 2020 (UTC)
Done For adminship,   Not done for interface adminship - still no 2FA enabled. I also revoked your idwiki interface adminship per WMF policy. --Martin Urbanec (talk) 15:20, 8 November 2020 (UTC)

Vito Genovese@trwikibooks

I was a temp sysop at the project from March to September 2017. I re-requested for temporary adminship interface adminship, and there seems to be consensus for promotion. My plan is to use the former right for a comprehensive cleanup that the project sorely needs and the latter right for the porting and maintenance of gadgets / user scripts that I help develop or maintain at trwiki.--Vito Genovese 19:23, 9 November 2020 (UTC)

Katariq@quwikipedia

Good morning. I would like to get the adminship of the Quechuan Wikipedia for 1 year in order to modernize and improve it (as I have already done in the main page). I would like to make new templates, renew some information, make new contents, improve the bots, and prevent it from vandalism Katariq (talk) 16:52, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

I do not find any adminship request at the link provided. Ruslik (talk) 20:33, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
Please, take a look again. The link says "musuq kamachiq". In the description I provide, it says " I would like to request administrator grants for this project", and there are 2 supporting votes Katariq (talk) 20:42, 6 November 2020 (UTC)

Mahir256@bnwikibooks

The Bengali Wikisource is part of a proofreadathon across Indian languages running through the first of November. One of the works included is a cookbook of recipes from north-central Bengal, the contents of which are good candidates for inclusion in a Wikibooks' Cookbook: namespace. Given that the last bnwikibooks sysop was globally locked for COI/undisclosed paid editing/what have you, and that the project is otherwise basically dormant (lots of speedy deletion requests have gone unfulfilled), I would like to request sysop/interface sysop rights on bnwikibooks so that I can clean up that wiki and make sufficient changes to support the infusion of appropriately restructured, reformatted content from bnwikisource--that is, to the extent that would otherwise be discouraged on Wikisource for not actually preserving the formatting of a source text. Mahir256 (talk) 06:10, 31 October 2020 (UTC)

On hold until 8 November 2020 Ruslik (talk) 20:45, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
@Mahir256: What is the reason for the opposing vote? Ruslik (talk) 08:36, 8 November 2020 (UTC)
@Ruslik0: That account is rather new, the opinion given being their first edit on that account (@NahidSultan: is this possibly the aforementioned former admin in disguise?), but the opinion given amounts to "I'm new to Wikibooks, but I have experience on Wikihow and also want to contribute here; I don't support your having the right because I too want the right". Mahir256 (talk) 08:50, 8 November 2020 (UTC)

User:Ruslik0 Although I am new, I have experience working at WikiHow ,Also I would like to improved Mahir256 to Wikibooks with very few contributions and admin rights .Which I am willing to do so I too can get the right of the administrator. That's why I improved Wikibooks(This was my opposition because any experienced user could easily get the administrator rights) . I was opposed to this.Mahir256 says (@NahidSultan: is this possibly the aforementioned former admin in disguise?) But You misunderstand.Mcepy (talk) 20:25, 10 November 2020 (UTC)

Hi, I am Nitesh from the Punjabi community. I need permanent administrator rights on Punjabi Wikipedia. I am working on Punjabi Wikipedia and creating or developing articles on the daily bases, minimum one article each day from 3 to 4 years. During these edits, I found some errors on the pages which I can't fix on Wikipedia by myself with admin rights. I also want to handle some further work of an administrator. Please let me know if you have some follow-up questions. Nitesh Gill (talk) 09:26, 11 November 2020 (UTC)

Taylor_49@eowiktionary

Hello ... I would like to re-acquire sysopship for EO wiktionary. The discussion has been open during 17 days and there are only 2 votes. I was sysop 2019-Apr...2020-Apr but I was offline since 2020-Feb so my sysopship expired silently during that time. There are no bureaucrats and no active sysops either. There was a heavy vandalism attack against EO wiktionary ca 3 months ago and no local sysop was available. The mess was partially fixed by global admins and stewards. QueerEcofeminist@mrwikisource

As my temporary sysop rights ended on 13th Nov, I had requested for community approval to continue sysop rights and addition of interface rights too. Given the earlier stewards comments who granted me admin rights Special:Diff/20082468/20082847, this term would be bit longer if not permanent? I have also requested for 2FA for interface. thanks QueerEcofeminist [they/them/their] 18:51, 14 November 2020 (UTC)

Qareken Balasi, you have only registered last month. So did the people voting for you. Could you explain the situation please? I am happy you are interested in Wikipedia, I also saw the Telegram group you have. But it is unusual. --Base (talk) 12:08, 4 November 2020 (UTC)

  • Base Good afternoon! Yes! I have a new account, the old one for unknown reasons was deleted and lost access to accounts and mail! I come from Karakalpakstan and live in Kazakhstan, I want to fix all the mistakes on the Karakalpak Wikipedia and fix everything! For this, I am recruiting a team for the development of Karakalpak Wikipedia. --Qareken Balasi (talk) 12:56, 4 November 2020 (UTC)
Qareken Balasi, what is your old account? Also is RakhmonovFilms an account of yours? --Base (talk) 13:32, 4 November 2020 (UTC)
Base Yes, this account! The reason was that I was supposedly doing advertising. I figured out everything now I want to take up my language Karakalpak because there are very big mistakes and there is a lot to do, that is, to contribute to the Karakalpak Wikipedia. --Qareken Balasi (talk) 14:01, 4 November 2020 (UTC)

(still pending trying to figure out the whole situation) --Base (talk) 09:31, 10 November 2020 (UTC)

Granted for 3 months to expire on 2021-02-21. . Qareken Balasi, I have to make a few things clear: several accounts are generally not allowed. Please have all three of them (for the record there is also Special:CentralAuth/Rakhmonov Shaxbozbek) disclosed on your userpage. Also please notify users about the votes mainly using on wiki communication means. The Telegram group did include canvassing in my opinion. On the other hand there are no valid oppose votes: Kagansky voted against, but they are active only on uzwiki and the editorial dispute has happened outside kaawiki too, and I also see that you are indeed working on kaawiki. I recognise that you have a block on ruwiki, but since it is about a promotional sounding username, it is not a big deal too. That being said this request is very much on borderline and I do hope that you refer to conflict of interest and notability policies of larger Wikipedias (such as Russian or English Wikipedias) for your kaawiki development. Feel free to ask any relevant questions related to admin rights; please make sure to translate the interface to Karakalpak on translatewiki: rather than locally. I have made a note for other stewards in your log to refer to this request for your further right grants. To prolong your adminship you will have to start a new vote about a week before this adminship expires and then submit the results of the vote here with a new request. --Base (talk) 13:42, 15 November 2020 (UTC)

Several users@smnwiki

A vote was started on October 20 about who should be the administrators on the new Inari Sámi Wikipedia (smnwiki), which resulted in the following seven users being elected:

Jon Harald Søby (talk) 10:02, 16 November 2020 (UTC)

Jon Harald Søby, could you explain the election process, please? As I understand, the nominations were done by adding people to the table, and votes pro were done by adding voter's username to the second column. What does a "(?)" next to your username mean? Also I saw that one of the nominated users was removed from the table during the election. Did they decline the nomination? In fact it is not clear for me who has explicitly agreed, except for the ones who nominated themselves. --Base (talk) 15:10, 17 November 2020 (UTC)
I removed the "(?)" after Jon Harald Søby. I asked Jon Harald Søby by e-mail whether he wanted to be an administrator. I just forgot to remove the "(?)" after he agreed. User:Mlolthuis was removed from the table because she had originally declined the nomination but then changed her mind. Every user in the list has explicitly agreed to be an administrator. I personally asked each and every of them either by e-mail or on their respective Talk page. Then I recorded the answers under the table: "Vástádâsah" (=Anwers) and "haalijd leđe fáárust" (=wants to be part of the team of administrators). If you have any further questions, please let me know. --Muotâ (talk) 20:25, 17 November 2020 (UTC)

Granted for 3 months to expire on 2021-02-18. All the above-mentioned users were promoted to administrators for three months (the standard period for new wikis). To prolong your (interface) adminship, please start another election a few days before your temporary access expires, and after a week post your request again to this page. Thanks. --Martin Urbanec (talk) 11:25, 18 November 2020 (UTC)

This project currently has no administrator. I want to bring across a number of template facilities from Wikisource; I will also investigate whether this can be packaged and maintained as a MediaWiki extension. I am also trying to bring together a cross-site Latin community to bring more knowledge and use to some of these projects. For la Wikibooks, I have some simple public domain content adaptation (notes, accents, parallel texts) in mind, which woud be easy for others to contribute to. JimKillock (talk) 07:36, 11 November 2020 (UTC)

Update: If the MediaWiki extension turns out to be unecessary or not appropriate (I am checking) I am hoping the work of porting the relevant tamples and CSS from Wikisource to la.wikibooks will provide a model for en.wikibooks and others to investigate and implement, as I can document what the necessary changes are. JimKillock (talk) 09:25, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
What was the result of that discussion? Can you summarize? Especially what does that comment in Latin mean? Ruslik (talk) 08:23, 15 November 2020 (UTC)
Andreas (commenting in Latin) agrees that taking on a project like this may be a waste of time, but also says that I am not wrong in what I say (about missing features I assume) but that he has problems with a translated book he has added, as there is nobody to deal with deletions he needs. The main outcome of discussions so far has been to narrow down what is required to add the Wikisource layout features. The conclusion, I would say, is mild support, no opposition, but to warn I may be wasting my time. FWIW it seems a good idea to see if I can steer it a bit towards having some relevant content before a decision is taken whether it is better to close and port the content. JimKillock (talk) 10:02, 15 November 2020 (UTC)
Summary: No objections lodged about adminship but queries about the continued value of la.wikibooks. On the technical side, there is some interest in trying to make new layout features work on .la.wikibooks first. We appear to have narrowed down the requirements a lot. JimKillock (talk) 19:47, 15 November 2020 (UTC)
Is there anything else you need to help this progress? JimKillock (talk) 17:33, 17 November 2020 (UTC)

  Done--Sakretsu (炸裂) 23:29, 21 November 2020 (UTC)

Please permanently remove the adminship. The primary reason is emergency de-sysoping. His failure to avoid the conflict of interest on 2020-10-15 to delete and forever protect 3 pages, without publicly consulting other sysops nor evident sincerity to redress the issue, causes ongoing indefinite unrest in the community.

The secondary reason is the voting discussion. As the time limit is 14 days to vote about adminship, 14 days after 2020-10-15 starting the vote without enough local policies about voting eligibility nor passing threshold, etc, on 2020-10-29, I questioned if the consensus has been built to remove with 6 supports, 5 oppositions, and 3 being neutral [8], and on the same day Midleading as my fellow sysop advised temporarily keeping Zhxy 519's adminship [9].

Yet many late votes keep coming to remove, and s:zh:User:Patlabor Ingram kept talking too harshly, especially after 2020-10-29. On 2020-11-03, Midleading once again proposed stopping the vote [10]. Yet Patlabor Ingram and s:zh:User:Longway22 would keep pushing their propaganda and think that only removing Zhxy 519 will be acceptable.

I really do not want to publicly suspect anyone as meatpuppet or manipulating the vote. Having a stalemate and considering Stewards policy#Don't override consensus, please carefully remove the adminship while we have too few active users and our consensus may not be valid. The vote has too many flaws. Yet Zhxy 519's own actions may still warrant emergency removal due to lack of trust.Jusjih (talk) 19:54, 12 November 2020 (UTC)

As Jusjih said, he or she is facing harsh words from some users. However the discussion itself finished without consensus in 14 days and sysops should rather deal with w:WP:POINT behaviors as Jusjih mentioned. And I didn't have a chance of advanced communication, only Chinese-style propaganda public trial. I sincerely ask you to reject Jusjih's request, as just a personal decision under pressure (Patlabor Ingram and others claim many times they don't trust Jusjih and even de-adminship of himself in the same page) also "without publicly consulting other sysops".--Zhxy 519 (talk) 20:39, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
@Zhxy 519: Due to your several blocked logs on zhwiki, I see no reason why your permission can't be removed, or why don't you just request self-removal? --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 23:06, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
Please note that this is one example of those typical harsh words, both myself and Jusjih are facing.--Zhxy 519 (talk) 00:44, 13 November 2020 (UTC)

Although I am glad Jusjih has filed the request from the community consensus, the Stewards should keep in mind this file haven't told all the truth of communities' discussion as Jusjih also by Zhxy 519's side.Patlabor Ingram and I ARE two independent member of community with no connection of interests, the only thing bring we and other members to the side against Zhxy 519 is official misconduct, with Jusjih being censors of special interest in wiki programs. The consensus of community is clear that there are no more

credibility in the power of Zhxy 519 manipulating the policy in it's own interest.Zhxy 519 couldn't face the questions either Patlabor Ingram or I bring up,and Jusjih had been middleman by Zhxy 519's side for days with agenda blocking any decision of community build up.So for stop the cheating and situation go worse, the Stewards should make an emergency removal as the local community consensus gained. Thanks for reading.——Longway22 (talk) 04:16, 13 November 2020 (UTC)

I have never been by Zhxy 519's side. I always value procedural justice. s:zh:User:Midleading questioned both Zhxy 519 and the process, thus voting to be neutral on 2020-10-19. Midleading already advised on 2020-10-29 to provisionally keep Zhxy 519 for no consensus. Yet Patlabor Ingram made excessive point to reverse my disqualifying Snaketong while voting late as the first edit on Chinese Wikisource. Then during the late period beyond 2020-10-29, both Patlabor Ingram and Longway22 made excessive points to manipulate the discussion.
Thus I file this primarily due to Zhxy 519 indefinitely protecting 3 pages without publicly asking other sysops first. It would even last beyond the United States non-acceptance of the rule of the shorter term until any syspo changes it. The flawed discussion with both Patlabor Ingram and Longway2 making excessive points should be considered incidentally advisory, but talks beyond 2020-10-29 should not be seriously considered.--Jusjih (talk) 22:54, 13 November 2020 (UTC)

OK,

  1. I fail to see any emergency desysop procedure reason: usually either "compromised account" or "wheel-warring with other admins". Failure to avoid CoI is not an emergency-desysop reason by itself. "Lack of trust" is something zhwikisource community need to deal with themselves.
  2. If there is no apparent consensus to remove the user, why should we desysop him? Under what policy? (Correct me if they passed the desysop threshold, but Jusjih's initial comment seem to suggest it did not pass)

— regards, Revi 16:56, 17 November 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for replying. We did not have a clear policy on how to desysop, like the threshold, when s:zh:Patlabor Ingram started and then manipulated the de-sysoping discussion so harshly.--Jusjih (talk) 04:58, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
As I said, I don't see this as emergency desysop-able reason (compare this with Vodomar@hrwiki), and then if there's no clear consensus to demote the user, I don't see why the permission need to be removed, unless the user is resigning. 6 to 5 is not really a clear consensus to me. — regards, Revi 00:18, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
As Steward_requests/Checkuser has shown clearing the Commuities'name, the outsider should notice Jusjih and Zhxy 519 also holding the problem "Lack of trust" to mulityusers and code of wikiprogram. No local policy could protect the Commuity daily works as our memebers being and facing account lockout at arbitrarily,as Jusjih setting new policy to save their ass talking like "procedural justice",and contiue threatening to block users who hold different opinions. The voting coludn't replace discussion as the code said, and well-founded conclusion gained on table that impeached AD didn't abide by the code and wouldn't change. This is indeed a reason for emergency removal procedure and that was clearly gained in the local community consensus.——Longway22 (talk) 10:53, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
Indeed, there was a possible threat([11])that Jusjih claims that Patlabor Ingram POINT for not withdrawing the accusations to Zhxy 519 and warn Patlabor Ingram. It worsens the situation as making Patlabor Ingram and other feel that they are threatened.----Cmsth11126a02 (talk) 13:01, 22 November 2020 (UTC)

I don't think this qualifies for the "emergency" desysop, nor the community discussion desysop. Please go back to zhwikisource and get a clear consensus. Thank you. — regards, Revi 18:15, 23 November 2020 (UTC)
