edit- @DerHexer, Johannnes89, Martin Urbanec, and Vermont: pinging for attention! Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 13:22, 23 September 2024 (UTC)
- Based on CentralNotice/Request/Picture of the Year 2022 we should use Special:CentralNoticeBanners/edit/POTY_2023_P2 again instead of the old 2018 banner.
- @Pcoombe (WMF) do you have time to take a look at this banner regarding dark mode fixes? :) Johannnes89 (talk) 15:23, 23 September 2024 (UTC)

- @DerHexer: Fine with me. Somehow I don't think I saw the banner change last year. IMO showing multiple images makes it looks like "these are the finalists" but not a big deal. We can discuss over on Commons if we should alter it for next year, but for this year no objections! Thanks! — Rhododendrites talk \\ 13:17, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Rhododendrites: I fully agree with you! It always confused me why we are using very old photographs for invitations to the second round. I also felt that they look more like phase 1 winners but they are not. If you have any other photo collection (or create one for phase 2) that this I am open to implement this one! Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 14:46, 26 September 2024 (UTC)

edit- @Rhododendrites: As Johannnes89 suggested, I have reused last year's banner for this year's campaign and just updated the link (preview). I also tried the banner in my dark mode and it looked okay to me. Please check everything yourself and ping me with your approval so that I can enable the campaign. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 09:50, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
- It looked okay in dark mode, but I've tweaked it a little so the text section can also be dark. It seems like we can actually use the Codex CSS variables in banners now, which makes things a lot easier. Peter Coombe (WMF) (talk) 23:20, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
- I have enabled the campaign. Thanks for the tweaks. —DerHexer (Talk) 14:48, 26 September 2024 (UTC)
