Gloomy Day, Languages, Motivation
Today has been quite a gloomy day here. Grey. Windy and just lackluster sunshine. And I am listening to Can’t Catch Me Now from the Ballads of of Songbirds and Snakes as I am typing this up. It’s such a vibe really.
I don’t listen to that many songs. I just stick to a few usually.
Songs always bring me back to periods of my life when I first listened to them. Say I was listening to Safe and Sound a few years ago after watching the Hunger Games, and if I listen to the song now, it will somewhat remind me of my younger self in that time.
Does anyone experience this?
Speaking of the Hunger Games, the whole story is quite profound I think. 12 districts at the mercy of the Capitol. The uprising of the 13th District to overthrow the Hunger Games. The temptation to seek power by the leader of the rebellion, who later got executed at the end of trilogy by the girl on fire.
Songbirds and snakes. Struggle for survival. Making difficult choices. The best and worst of humanity are both sides of the same coin. What motivates us to be heroic is also the catalyst that brings out the villain in you and me. ❄
On a broader scale, none of us can ever choose the districts we are born into.
