The singer proved you can get award show-worthy beauty on a drugstore budget.

Zendaya’s retro mullet and David Bowie-inspired suit are still topping Grammys headlines. 

But the singer’s look captivated us for another reason.

The new face of CoverGirl decided to try out some of the company's products by doing her own makeup for the awards show this year. Typically, stars spend a reported $1,000 to $2,000 on makeup alone for the night of awards shows. That's not to mention the thousands spent on clothing, hair and alterations.

Zendaya, 19, ended up with something neutral and refined — the perfect complement to her sophisticated pantsuit.
