Effect
When the Pokémon successfully lands an attack on the target, it has a chance of lowering one of the target's stats (Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, Speed, accuracy, or evasiveness) by one stat rank. The skill can range from Unfortuitous 1 to Unfortuitous 9, with higher numbered skills resulting in a higher chance of lowering a stat. Unfortuitous 9 will always lower a stat. The skill applies to the Pokémon's usual attack moves, including buddy moves, but not sync moves or max moves.
The skill will act independently of the move's innate chance of lowering one of the target's stats (if applicable). If the Pokémon has access to more than one Unfortuitous skill, each will have a chance of activating independently of each other.
