Badly startles Pokémon that used a move of the same type.

Trick-or-Treat (Japanese: ハロウィン Halloween) is a non-damaging Ghost-type move introduced in Generation VI. It is the signature move of Pumpkaboo and Gourgeist.

Effect

Trick-or-Treat adds the Ghost type to the target, in addition to the Pokémon's original type(s). If it is used against a dual-type Pokémon, that Pokémon will have three types at once. If the target already has an additional type added to it by Forest's Curse, that type is replaced with the Ghost type. Trick-or-Treat will fail if the target Pokémon is already Ghost type. This additional type can be copied by Reflect Type.

If powered up by a Ghostium Z into Z-Trick-or-Treat, the user's Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed are raised by one stage each.

Generation VIII

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Trick-or-Treat cannot be selected in a battle.

You can discuss this on the talk page.

Trick-or-Treat is programmed into Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but it cannot be used in a battle as no available Pokémon can learn it.
