Trade and Play Kit
Following on from similar events held during the Sun & Moon Series and Sword & Shield Series, various stores in North America hosted Trade and Play events during the Scarlet & Violet Series. Each "A Guide to Trading Cards" provides a breakdown of card rarity in the Scarlet & Violet Series, plus a general rarity breakdown of cards from older Series, a brief explanation of what Pokémon ex, Full Art cards, and illustration rare cards are, and an annotated trading card complete with type guide. The activity sheets offered a total of six challenges:
- Picture Copy – Copy the image of Fidough using the 4×4 grid of squares.
- Sudoku – Complete the 6×6 Sudoku grid using the remaining Pokémon images.
- Evolution Maze – Follow the numbers from 1 to 20 to help Girafarig evolve into Farigiraf.
- Shadow Match – Identify the silhouettes of various Generation IX Pokémon.
- Logic Puzzle – Determine the race finishing positions of four Pokémon using the clues provided.

Paldea Evolved Blisters
Paldea Evolved was officially released on June 9, 2023 and its launch was accompanied by a variety of blister packs. Single Pack and Three Pack Blisters featured SVP Black Star Promos previously released in the Japanese Pokémon Card Gym Promo Card Pack 1 (except for Tinkatink, which was sourced from the Japanese Clay Burst expansion), while Premium Checklane and Stage 1 Blisters were packaged with straight reprints from the Scarlet & Violet expansion. Smoliv and Growlithe cards could be obtained from Single Pack Blisters; Tinkatink and Varoom cards could be found in Three Pack Blisters; and the evolutionary lines of Arboliva and Pawmot were included in Premium Checklane Blisters. Stage 1 Blisters featuring either Charcadet and Armarouge or Tatsugiri and Dondozo were also available in stores such as Target. All blisters included a code card for Pokémon TCG Live, and all except the Three Pack Blisters were packaged with a Jumbo-sized Quaxly coin.
As with initial waves of the Scarlet & Violet Single Pack and Three Pack Blisters, the featured Smoliv, Growlithe, Tinkatink, and Varoom promotional cards were printed on Smooth-style Cosmos Holofoil paper. This Holofoil had been in use since early November 2013, debuting on cards available in Legendary Treasures merchandise and phasing out the Pixel-style Cosmos Holofoil first used on English cards in Base Set 2. In an unexpected move, The Pokémon Company International began to use the Pixel Cosmos Holofoil paper again starting with the Single Pack Blisters, resulting in Smoliv and Growlithe being available in both Smooth and Pixel Cosmos Holofoil—something not seen since the Plasma Storm Rerelease and Kanto Two Pack Blisters in the XY Series. In a similar vein, the Arboliva, Pawmot, Armarouge, and Dondozo cards feature the Sword & Shield Series-style Line Holofoil, different to that of their in-set Mirage Holofoil prints.
The Cosmos Holofoil transition saw more cards printed using both styles as new products were released, most notably on those associated with the special 151 expansion. The transition appeared to be complete by the time Paradox Rift products launched in early November 2023. Merchandise first released prior to the change subsequently began to feature cards with the Pixel-style paper in later production runs. A run of the Paldea Evolved Three Pack Blisters in mid-2024 included Pixel Cosmos Holofoil versions of Varoom.
Exclusive promotional cards:
- Smoliv (SVP Promo 023; Pixel or Smooth Cosmos Holofoil)
- Growlithe (SVP Promo 024; Pixel or Smooth Cosmos Holofoil)
- Tinkatink (SVP Promo 025; Smooth Cosmos Holofoil)
