The news about Tilde’s success in the Large AI Grand Challenge has reached Italy, too! 🇮🇹   After winning the challenge, Wired Italia reached out to Tilde ~ CEO, Artūrs Vasiļevskis, to learn more about our initiative to develop a new open-source Large Language Model (LLM) for less widely spoken languages in Europe.   Artūrs explained that our goal with this model is to address the current underrepresentation of smaller languages in LLMs. Although the situation has improved, the representation of smaller languages like Latvian is still well 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝟭% in the existing models.   He noted that this won’t be an easy task, as not all languages have the same amount of data for training large models. Our team of experts in both AI and linguistics will need to devise intelligent methods to achieve high-quality results for these languages.   Stay tuned for more updates and insights as we begin our work with the LUMI supercomputer. We’ve proudly partnered with the Lampa festival for years, consistently helping enhance the event’s accessibility and inclusivity. This year was no exception—Tilde ~ provided real-time discussion transcriptions for the Lampa festival over the weekend. 📱   Lampa is a conversation festival that brings people together to discuss the current issues affecting Latvia, Europe, and the rest of the world. This year, it featured 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟭,𝟭𝟬𝟬 participants and speakers across 365 discussions, workshops, and performances.    Our recently launched Tilde Event Assistant enabled attendees to read along and follow discussions 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹-𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲, whether on their own devices or stage screens. 🗳️ During this year’s presidential elections, The Central Electoral Commission Of The Republic Of Lithuania successfully used 𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗜-𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗯𝗼𝘁 to handle voter queries, significantly reducing employee workload.    Deployed in collaboration with Tilde ~, the chatbot has handled almost 10,000 messages since its launch.
