🤸 The HealthTech Investor Summit European pre-selections saga continues, this time in Namur, featuring the best pitching companies from #Belgium 🇧🇪 and #Luxembourg 🇱🇺 Wallonia Export & Investment Agency, Henk Joos and other jury members helped choose the top company pitches. In total, 30 companies associated with BioWin - The Health Cluster of Wallonia, Luxinnovation GIE, hub.brussels, and MEDVIA competed. 4 preseed, 8 startups and 4 scaleups will complement the 11 already selected companies. On Thursday 16th November, Technoport SA organized with LAFO and the support of Creutz & Partners the very first edition of the 𝐋𝐮𝐱𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐦 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬. 🚀 In presence of a hand-picked audience mixing #entrepreneurs, #investors and #privatewealth advisors, this event has featured four #startups (AM 4 AM / SYSLOR / Myelin-H / MDsim) selected by Technoport to pitch in front of a jury - that was as discerning as it was demanding – composed of (Claude de Raismes, Solenne Niedercorn-Desouches and Stephan Ramoin). The level of competition was particularly high, so it wasn't easy for the members of the jury to reach a decision. However… M͟D͟s͟i͟m͟ ͟s͟t͟o͟o͟d͟ ͟o͟u͟t͟ because: 1° The company is helping to reduce a major health problem that could affect the entire population; 2° The "Software as a Medical Device" solution seems well suited to the practical needs of surgeons and patients: better results for the patient, lower risk of complications, shorter operations,  and lower treatment costs; 3° The longer investment horizon, requiring R&D and marketing authorization, is well suited to players such as family offices, who have permanent capital and therefore time on their hands. Well done to Roger Assaker and his team! 💪 A great opportunity ahead for them to pitch at the 🥂 𝐋𝐀𝐅𝐎 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥 🥂 early 2024 in front of more than a hundred members and guests. 👏 Congratulations to them and to all the start-ups that have taken up the challenge (Maxime Delmée, Zied Tayeb, Edouard Semin) ! It's been a (heck of) year! A year since the creation of MDsim. A year where we've built an A-Team of friends and family, graduated from an acceleration program, learned a lot about medtech, met and developed new partners, designed a revolutionary software, closed a pre-seed funding round with (friends) investors who trusted us and our vision, met some exceptional spine surgeons and patients who needed help. A year where we worked hard and learned a lot in the office, in the OR and even by the pool. It is especially a year that brings us a step further toward our mission to help improving the quality of life of patient suffering from spine degeneration and deformity.
