Enabling value creation from secondary use of data – with transparency, control and trust.
À propos
Luxembourg National Data Service (LNDS) is an economic interest group created by the Luxembourg Government, to implement Luxembourg’s strategies in research, innovation, and digitalisation. Our aim is to enable value creation from secondary use of data, for public and private partners and support the sharing and re-use of public sector data, in a trustable manner. The LNDS service portfolio includes know-how, capabilities, tools, infrastructure, and data services. The service portfolio is developed together with data partners, through concrete data projects. Through efficient & responsible use of data and improving the secondary use of data, LNDS will support the acceleration of economic, ecological, and societal transitions. We are transparent, trustable and thriving. Our people are our most important asset. We share our knowledge and experience seamlessly across teams, united by our common goal: to create societal impact through supporting value creation of data for our data partners. At LNDS everyone can truly be themselves. We operate with respect for people, with a very friendly and caring work culture. On a national level, LNDS will be a catalyst for the national research and innovation ecosystem to fully utilise the potential of data. We collaborate closely with actors representing government, industry, research and citizens, to make an impact together. We develop these capabilities in an international context. On the European level, LNDS will become a major contributor to the European Data Spaces as described in the data strategy of the European Commission.

Healthcare Week Luxembourg, a major digital health event in the country, takes place on October 1-2. 🇱🇺 📈 Luxembourg's population has been growing faster than in many other EU states over the past decade. With about 𝟱𝟬% of the population consisting of expats, Luxembourg stands as one of the most diverse countries in Europe. 𝟮𝟯𝟭,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀-𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 commuters, another 1/3 to the total population, from Germany, France, and Belgium enter the country daily, adding complexity to Luxembourg's healthcare and workforce landscape. The Dataspace4Health project, as a consortium of Hôpitaux Robert Schuman, the Luxembourg Institute of Health, the Luxembourg National Data Service (LNDS), University of Luxembourg, Agence eSanté, and NTT DATA, Inc. offers a blueprint for secure, compliant health data exchange. Being built on the 𝗚𝗮𝗶𝗮-𝗫 reference architecture, the initiative tackles real-world use cases, such as preventing 💉diabetes complications through AI-driven decision support and advancing precision 🧬 oncology treatments. This project is key to establishing Health Data Spaces in Luxembourg, especially in light of the upcoming European Health Data Space regulation. ⭕ Together with the fellow panelists, I’m looking forward to joining the roundtable on Wednesday to discuss data mobilization for secondary use, AI model training, compliance, and ethical considerations - both from a local perspective and as a potential model for cross-border health data exchange.
