The global alternatives market is projected to surpass $30 trillion by 2030, with private equity and secondaries driving growth. Preqin forecasts a 9.7% annual growth rate for the industry from 2023 to 2029, reaching $29.2 trillion in AUM by 2029. Private equity is expected to more than double in size, while secondaries are anticipated to grow at 13.1% annually. Private debt and venture capital are also set for steady growth, with real estate and infrastructure recovering. Hedge funds will see slower expansion, growing at 4% annually. In recent years, the LSFI has helped the financial sector identify which specific skills professionals need in sustainable finance and whether the existing courses meet these requirements. To this end, a working group has evaluated the training market between November 2022 and May 2023 with the aim of offering a varied range of courses for client-facing professionals, training on selling of ESG products and regulation.
