🚀 Meet our #Aerospace partner: the DLR Institute of Materials Research, part of German Aerospace Center (DLR)! 🇩🇪 DLR is the Aeronautics and Space Research Center of the Federal Republic of Germany focused on research and development activities on aeronautics, space, energy, transportation, security and digitalization. In #GRAPHERGIA, DLR will process solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) using non-flammable and non-aqueous ionic liquids contained into polymer matrices to be casted on #graphene-based electrodes. 🤔 Can we already see applications of #graphene batteries in real life? The answer is YES! An India-based electric vehicle startup called iVOOMi Energy has launched the S1 Lite, an electric scooter available with two battery options, graphene and Li-ion. ✅ The graphene unit offers a range of up to 75 km and takes 7-8 hours to charge fully, while the Li-ion pack provides a range of up to 85 km and can be charged in under 4 hours. ⬢ The use of of laser sources to produce high-quality #graphene is one of #GRAPHERGIA's base technologies. Our coordinator, Spyros Yannopoulos, from Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas (FORTH), spoke about it last week in his Invited Talk ‘Leveraging Laser-Assisted Techniques for High-Quality Graphene and Graphene-Based Nanohybrids in Energy Storage Applications’, during the ICOOPMA 2024 conference. 🇨🇿 The 10th International Conference on Optical, Optoelectronic and Photonic Materials and Applications was organized by the Center of Materials and Nanotechnology and the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the Faculty of Chemical Technology at the University of Pardubice (Czech Republic).
