Doctors in Lithuania are prescribing a new treatment method: a walking app! Sustainable activity platform walk15.app continues working with public healthcare services - Center polyclinic (Centro Poliklinika) in Vilnius starts the Steps Prescription project. This is already the second state polyclinic in Lithuania where this innovation is implemented. The idea of the steps prescription came to Vlada Musvydaite Vilciauske four years ago during a project with a pharmaceutical company. “I had a question then — why do we write prescriptions to get well? We engage cities in sustainable mobility 🌳 We are happy to work for our beloved city of Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, and involve citizens and tourists in sustainable mobility with our walk15.app. Together with the Vilnius City Municipality, we created a Step Challenge to encourage people to choose walking or sustainable mobility alternatives - such as cycling, car sharing or public transport, instead of their own car. In just a few days, more than 7,000 Vilnius residents and guests of the city of Vilnius have already joined the challenge of Vilnius city districts, and this is simply a fantastic rehearsal before the upcoming year 2025, when the city of Vilnius is declared a Green Capital of Europe 2025 by the European Commission. We can now engage any city, country or continent, community or business in the world for sustainable mobility activities as we work globally and in 31 languages – keep this in mind as European Mobility Week approaches! The fans of the German national team won Euro2024 20,000 fans 33 times around the World 206 tons of CO2 saved The two most important European championships - UEFA Euro2024 and Euroleague 2024 were held in Germany, the finals - in Berlin - the second home of our walk15.app team For both championships, we have become official partner to engage football and basketball fans in sustainable mobility activities that benefit both personal health and our planet. For the city of Berlin, we created a series of sustainable activity tracks in our app - on foot and by bike, involving almost 20,000 fans from more than 50 countries around the world, who covered as many kilometers as would be enough to circle our planet almost 33 times. It is equivalent to 206 tons of CO2 not emitted into the environment. And it's just amazing that against the background of these two major championships, the sustainability championship in our app - UEFA 2024 Future League Steps Challenge - was won by a team of German fans, leaving England and Spain fans on the sidelines. Sustainable city, sustainable sport - make an impact at every step!

For the first time, we explored the beautiful city of Marijampole during the IKI Walking Competition. The vibrant atmosphere and positive energy made the event truly unforgettable. Participants were not only impressed by the city but also by the unique experience of making purchases with their steps! 🚶♂️🛒 Medals inspired by the Cat Yard were given to the participants, adding a unique charm to the event. 11,142 fans from over 45 countries across the world signed up for the Euroleague Basketball Final Four sustainable mobility challenges in Berlin - and it is 52% more than last year in Kaunas. Altogether, using the walk15.app they recorded 184,043,130 steps in the Walking Challenge and 11,070km in the Biking Challenge in just three days – from Friday, May 24, to Sunday, May 26! This was an invitation to basketball fans and citizens to walk to the Final Four facilities and around the world, which further allowed them to get to know the city better at the same time. This helped with ensuring individuals understood the importance to use these sustainable mobility alternatives and take action on achieving healthy habits, which have benefits for both them and the planet.
