As we said our goodbyes to the A330 fleet, we still want to express gratitude to one of our partners, who operated solely with our A330s, embodying a unique chapter in our collaboration ؘ– Uzbekistan Airways. Say hello to Marwan El Nar – another pilot recently promoted to Captain at Heston Airlines! 🎉  Marwan describes the beginning of his journey in aviation as “unexpected” – before becoming a pilot, he established a successful career as a dental surgeon. When he started flying as a passenger more and more, Marwan felt fascinated by aviation and decided to work toward receiving a private pilot license. The rest is history. Like all First Officers, Marwan faced challenges like flying for various ACMI companies worldwide and operating in different airfields with various crews. However, these experiences improved his adaptability, communication skills, and cultural awareness and, as he said, made him a more effective pilot. Marwan names the value of effective communication and humility as the most important lesson he learned as a First Officer – he realized that listening to his colleagues is crucial, regardless of his skills or knowledge. Upon being asked how he feels after becoming a Captain, Marwan compares the career upgrade to being handed the keys to a ship with a legacy to uphold – it is an immense honor for him, blending pride with the weight of responsibility. He feels exhilarated and humbled, ready to guide others. Marwan advises aspiring captains to demonstrate professionalism, skills, and dedication, to be patient and prepared for opportunities. He emphasized that his colleagues at Heston Airlines are in the right place where career advancement is more than a promise. June 30th is a special day for Heston Airlines as we celebrate the three-year anniversary of our first commercial flight from Kaunas to Ljubljana (HST9001). Looking back at our journey, we achieved many incredible things:  ✈️Visited 206 airports, the furthest from Vilnius being in Manilla, Philippines  ✈️Spent more than 48 000 hours in the air ✈️Carried around 2 551 046 passengers to their desired destinations  ✈️Flown 28 877 400 kilometers, which equals 720 times around the globe via the equator We’re very thankful for every team member, partner, and passenger who has been a part of this incredible adventure – we wouldn’t be where we are today without you! Over the years, A330 aircraft have been a crucial part of our operations, serving a diverse range of needs and making significant contributions to the success of our partners. A330-200 aircraft have proudly operated under ACMI contracts for several esteemed airlines, including Condor, Uzbekistan Airways, Air Madagascar, Swoop, and Sky Cana. These collaborations have allowed us to extend our services and strengthen our global presence. In addition, during the challenging COVID-19 pandemic, these versatile aircraft were converted into P2F (Passenger-to-Freighter) configuration freighters. This adaptation enabled us to provide essential cargo services when they were most needed, supporting supply chains and delivering critical goods worldwide. As we transition away from the A330 fleet, we remain committed to delivering exceptional service and exploring new opportunities to meet the evolving needs of our customers. We are excited to announce that we are continuing to increase our A320 fleet by also adding new A319 aircraft.
