  I'm sure this movie is amazing but it was hard to focus because I watched the sing-along version at a work party (I work at a movie theater) and halfway through some of my coworkers started playing uno and singing along to the hits of 2010. I gradually started talking to my friend more and getting less invested in the movie and then the uno started and I could barely hear the dialogue. It was a unique and fun experience…

  - I could not remember the relationship between Maximus and Lucilla when it was revealed she was Hanno's mother. She was the emperor's sister and Lucius was her son, right? And Maximus' family was separate, barely shown, living on his farm, and murdered at the end, if I remember correctly. Idk. If I had seen the first movie less than 4 years ago then maybe I would've been less confused about that.

  (I watched the European cut which is apparently made better.)

  Everything is covered in glitter. Tim Curry devil. Tom Cruise dresses like Tarzan(?) and wears no pants the whole time. Unicorns. Goblins. Little troll guys with ridiculous names like Screwball. There's a fairy. Very campy. I love this movie.

  Also I read that the death of the unicorn and the challenges Lily faces are a metaphor for innocence/virginity, so that's interesting.

  This was a great movie that I had been looking forward to watching, but I think it could have been expanded a lot.

  - It felt like there was a gap between Lee saying "I know this is the guy. Let's go find him." and her boss hesitantly agreeing and then multiple police cars showing up with their sirens on to aggressively stop Cobble while he's standing on the side of the road.
  - The satanism kind of feels like…
