L’Apéro by 4F
As the sun sets, our beloved bakery transforms into an intimate French Biodynamic and Natural wine bar. Every Thursday through Saturday from 6 PM to 10:30 PM, and Sundays from 6 PM to 9:30 PM. We offer a handpicked selection of French wines that perfectly complement our artisanal breads, cheeses, and French classics.
This concept stemmed from the parties we hosted in our apartment, creating menus and naming cocktails after events in our life. Gautier would bake and cook everything from scratch & played bartender all night, ladling French 75s into our guest’s glasses. He really comes alive during a fête. I fell in love with the way he drank wine and chose which cheese to eat after dinner.
This project is a love letter to those wild nights. Join us for a relaxing evening filled with delightful sips, bites, and conversations. À bientôt!
Private Events & Collaborations
This brand was built on hosting parties and welcoming people into our home. The bakery is no different. Please reach out to us to see how we can create a special and intimate experience for you and your loved ones.
About Us
Gautier moved from France to NYC in 2012. He met Ashley in 2016 and the two have been inseparable since. The only thing missing in his life was good bread. That is until he started baking. With a background in engineering, he perfected his recipes down to a science. The two reside in Brooklyn with their dog Chip. When they aren't baking, they visit local farmer's markets, hike and drink wine.
Special Delivery
L'Appartement 4F began in our small Brooklyn apartment. We started as a two person cottage bakery making handcrafted small batches of slow fermented, sourdough bread. Through lots of trial, error, and butter, we curated a menu that brings France to NYC. We opened a brick and mortar in Brooklyn Heights in May of 2022. Each croissant is still rolled by hand and we hope you taste how special that is! We are excited to announce we are coming to the West Village in 2024!
Please note that all food is prepared in a small facility that also handles nuts. Please note if you have an allergy.
