Established in Switzerland in 2023, The Open Network Foundation is a non-profit organization funded entirely by community contributions. The Open Network Foundation acts in the interests of the community by supporting initiatives that help achieve The Open Network's mission.

  • 🚀 ACWA Power Kazakhstan becomes the 3000th company registered at AIFC We have reached new heights! 🎉 The number of companies registered at AIFC has reached 3,000. ACWA Power Kazakhstan has become the 3000th firm. 🔺 Saudi-listed ACWA Power is the world’s largest private water desalination company, a leader in energy transition and first mover into green hydrogen. ACWA Power is currently present in 13 countries in the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia. Its portfolio comprises 90 projects in operation, advanced development, or under construction with an investment value of USD 94.3 billion, and the capacity to generate 65.6 GW of power and manage 8.0 million m3/day of desalinated water per day. ACWA Power plans to build wind farm with energy storage systems with a total capacity of 1 GW in the Zhetysu region. The aim of the project is to harness abundant wind potential of country to increase the share of renewable energy sources and to help achieve carbon neutrality. The growth of the AIFC is reflected not only in the increase in the number of participants, but also in the expansion of international reach. Currently, companies from 82 countries, including China, Russia, the United Kingdom, the United States and others, are represented at the centre. This highlights the global appeal of the AIFC. 💬 AIFC Governor Renat Bekturov, CFA: “The growth in the number of the Centre's participants is explained by a series of factors, such as its unique legal framework based on common law principles, favorable tax conditions and a range of services to support business operations of its participants. Since its inception, the Centre has attracted companies from various sectors, including financial, technology, energy and others, thus contributing to innovation and economic development of Kazakhstan and the region”. 🔹 Companies receive benefits depending on the type of organization: from licensed market institutions to FinTech Lab participants and service providers.

  •  📢 Appointment.   Yernar Zhanadil is Chairman of the Management Board of the AIFC Authority   The Board of Directors of the Astana International Financial Centre Authority has approved Yernar Zhanadil as Chairman of the Management Board. He will assume his duties on 12 August.  Renat Bekturov, AIFC Governor, emphasised that Zhanadil's experience and professionalism will contribute to the Centre's development and attract investments to Kazakhstan.  💼 Yernar Zhanadil is a manager with 17 years of experience in strategic planning, finance, and investments. He previously worked at the Samruk-Kazyna Fund, Qazaq Green Power plc. and other organizations. Zhanadil completed the EMBA programme at Columbia Business School, Columbia University (USA), and London Business School (UK). He earlier obtained a Master’s degree from Manchester Business School (UK) under the Bolashak scholarship programme. The AIFC Governor also thanked Acting Chairman Temirlan Mukhanbetzhanov for his valuable work and long-term contributions to the financial centre. Mukhanbetzhanov will continue to serve as a member of the AIFC Authority’s Board of Directors.
