Envirostream Australia Pty Ltd cements its position in the Australian battery recycling market A wholly owned subsidiary of Lithium Australia and black mass producer, Envirostream, has had a busy March, signing multiple supply and offtake agreements, cementing its place in the Australian battery recycling market. On the 7th of March, it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Korean recycler, SungEel HiTech, for the offtake of black mass. On the 18th of March, it signed an exclusive battery recycling agreement with LG Energy Solution (LGES). On the 25th of March, it signed an agreement with Hyundai Glovis to provide recycling services for all the group’s batteries in Australia. The '2023 Saemangeum New Renewable Energy Exhibition' was successfully held from September 20th to 22nd, 2023, at the Gunsan Saemangeum Convention Center (GSCO) in Jeonbuk, South Korea. This exhibition provided a shining opportunity for the Saemangeum region to establish itself as a central hub for the new renewable energy industry. Various companies and experts participated, engaging in lively discussions and presentations, focusing on innovation and advancement in the field of renewable energy. SungEel HiTech Co., Ltd. also participated in this event, emphasizing the importance of battery recycling materials in achieving the carbon neutrality that the renewable energy sector strives for. Carbon neutrality involves minimizing greenhouse gas emissions and effectively offsetting them, and battery recycling materials are applying approximately 75% carbon dioxide reduction technology while minimizing environmental burdens associated with ore mining and refining. Furthermore, the third factory, located in Saemangeum and set to commence operations in early 2024, will produce battery-grade recycling materials capable of supplying approximately 300,000 electric vehicles.
