About

Bro You're Fucking Latinx refers to an Impact font image macro meme showing Jersey Shore cast member Pauly D screaming with top and bottom captions reading, "Bro you're fucking Latinx." The image was originally shared on Twitter / X in early 2024. It was praised across many posts for being surprisingly funny despite its simplicity and old internet style. Some recaptioned the meme or posted the base image without the text to spread it as an inside joke. Some even shared a screenshot of a "Jersey Shore Throwback Clip" YouTube video called, "Pauly D Loses His Cool," which used Pauly D yelling as its thumbnail.

Seeing someone having a meltdown about it in the comments. Being sincere, the term itself doesn't follow natural flow and logic of the Spanish language. It sounds silly/nonsensical and its hard to pronounce. Whoever coined the term was obviously someone who has little understanding of the language or plain doesn't speak it. Thus this is where the accusations of a "white savior" imposing it on us come from, and honestly, I don't blame them. I believe it, because who else but eccentric Progs from the US and Canada are this insistent on needless political correctness and non-binary newspeak? And fair enough for the English language, it inherently more neutral anyways, but said Progs want to impose those ideas thoughtlessly on a foreign language that is highly gendered. Personally, If I were willing to concede with something neutral, then dropping the o in Latino for say Latine makes far more sense. Latinx in comparison sounds incredibly tone deaf and stupid that it borders with gross ignorance. It may as well be a slur at that point.
