Babashabu
A downloadable game
~an Arabian-themed card game about luck and magic~
36 cards
This game is not officially for sale, but a deck can be created here. The intended card-back is solid black.
Note to self: Don't use AI-generated art ever again.
How to play
Shuffle the deck, and keep it face-up for the remainder of the game.
Place a bet against your opponent.
Attempt to end the game with the fewest cards remaining in the deck.
Use the effect of the top card of the deck until the effect of both Lamp cards has been carried out. The game otherwise ends as soon as the fourth Knight has been discarded.
When the game ends, total your score as the number of cards in the discard pile. Your opponent then shuffles all cards into the deck and attempts to beat your score.
Card effects
Merchant (10): Discard this card.
Prince (6): Discard this card and the next card.
Sultan (6): Discard this card and the next two cards.
Knight / Horseman (4): Discard this card. This card and all cards beneath it are unaffected by the Lamp card.
Camel (5): Move this card to the bottom of the deck.
Rug (3): Move this card to approximately the middle of the deck.
Lamp (2): This card cannot be discarded. Any active Prince or Sultan effect is considered finished at this time. Remove this card from the game. Shuffle all discarded cards into the deck.
Notes
Though based mostly around luck, the player's dexterity is also a factor. In particular, a false shuffle can be used when the first Lamp effect is triggered, and the Rug cards allow for rugged (albeit challenging) manipulation of card order.
The effects of Prince and Sultan cards do not stack. When a Prince or Sultan discards itself and the next card(s), N: if N is not a Lamp, ignore the triggered effect of N.
