A meaningful discussion on ending violence against children in Kenya 🇰🇪 🌟 On Wednesday, 17th July, we hosted a breakfast meeting to discuss policy solutions for ending violence against children in Kenya. Our team, led by National Director Gilbert Kamanga, Programmes Effectiveness Director Fredrick Kasiku, and Child Protection, Participation & Safeguarding Manager Alex Macharia, was joined by high-level government officials, including Principal Secretaries Hon. Aurelia Rono (Parliamentary Affairs) and Hon. Joseph Motari (Social Protection & Senior Citizens Affairs). Representatives from various civil society organizations also participated in the productive discussion. We reviewed the journey so far in protecting children, the implementation and progress of the National Prevention Response Plan, and Kenya's role as a Pathfinding country in the global effort to end violence against children. 🤝 Together, we committed to take action to end violence against children and create a safe and nurturing environment where they can thrive. At World Vision Kenya, Child Protection and Safeguarding are at the heart of our operations, and we stand on the firm belief that every boy and girl deserves a childhood free from violence and exploitation - one in which they’re nurtured and encouraged to become the unique person God has created them to be. #ChildProtection #EndViolenceAgainstChildren #ChildrensRights

"World Vision has given me new hope through skill training, knowledge, and values useful in life. I used to think I was a failure, but today I have discovered my worth," Joshua shares about his journey of transformation from a motorist to a successful professional electrician. On this #WorldYouthSkillsDay, we share how our Integrated Management of Natural Resources for Resilience in the ASALs (#IMARA) program, funded by Sida through the Embassy of Sweden in Kenya, has impacted the lives of 544 vulnerable youth from pastoral communities in Baringo, Elgeyo Marakwet, Turkana, and West Pokot Counties, one at a time. Read these inspiring stories of transformation from Samuel and Joshua, who have graduated from vocational training and are now in full-time employment thanks to the IMARA program. Our Central Rift Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration Scale-Up Project (CRIFSUP) is utilizing Gender Transformative Approaches in its Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (#FMNR) programming to strengthen food security and livelihood resilience for 11,000 households in Baringo, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nakuru, and West Pokot counties.   The project staff and participants (lead farmers) attended a sensitization forum conducted by Shamsi Kazimbaya, the Senior Program Officer at Equimundo: Center for Masculinities and Social Justice, on engaging men and boys for gender equality. This will be followed by a series of trainings that will enable the #CRIFSUP project, funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (#DFAT) through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (#ANCP), to be more Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (#GEDSI) aligned.   In attendance was World Vision Kenya's Technical Program Manager (Livelihood and Resilience), Caroline Maua, and GEDSI Advisor, Haron Kadieda. When women, men, boys, and girls work together, they realize greater holistic impacts that lead to greater fulfillment in life. #GEDSI #FMNR #CRIFSUP #WVKAt50
