Throughout Hispanic Heritage Month, Inspira, our Latin American Employee Resource Group hosted events that helped celebrate culture and diversity. From salsa classes to coffee tastings to making blankets for a local community organization, SCJ people enjoyed the opportunity to learn, empower and have fun together.⁣ #HispanicHeritageMonth

#GlobalHandwashingDay may be recognized on October 15, but at SC Johnson we believe handwashing, and a commitment to Water and Sanitation Hygiene (#WASH) programs, is a key part of a better, healthier world. Why focus on handwashing? Because families can help protect their health by practicing regular, effective handwashing, and SC Johnson can help reduce the spread of illness and disease by working with partners to increase access to water, sanitation & hygiene facilities and help educate people on the importance of handwashing. Through SC Johnson Professional® USA, we are a Steering Committee member of The Global Handwashing Partnership, which highlights the importance of access to clean water and soap. Global Handwashing Day advocates for handwashing with soap as an easy, effective, and affordable way to prevent diseases and save lives, particularly in areas of the world that don’t have access to clean water and soap.

We appreciate the opportunity to raise awareness about the plastic waste crisis and the challenges we need to overcome. Happy International Literacy Day 📚 SC Johnson is a proud to support programs and organizations aimed at enhancing literacy levels across the world! Today, we are highlighting some of the programs that champion literacy improvement, nurture reading skills, and encourage continuous learning: 📘In Racine, Wisconsin, our work with the Racine Public Library annually supports the Battle of the Books, a literature reading contest for 4th and 5th graders in the Racine area. 📗Our partnership with the Teach for the Philippines is helping to deliver quality literacy, numeracy and life skills education to public school students by recruiting and training qualified educators to support local education systems. 📙 In Brantford, Canada, our work with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library helps increase the love of reading among young children by supplying thousands of free books. 📕SC Johnson partners with Mathare Youth Sports Association in Kenya to help support a local library in promoting reading, book lending, learning, computer skills and sign language training in a safe learning environment.
