At the end of May, our colleague Eric Angula had the honor of joining the delegation of the first official state visit from #Kenya to the United States in over two decades. As a Board Member of the American Chamber of Commerce, Kenya, Eric accompanied the delegation to Atlanta and Washington D.C. and reflected, "I learnt a lot about government priorities and protocol as well as the critical US-Kenya investment focus areas. We're energized by the outcomes of last week's NCD Financing Dialogue hosted by the World Health Organization and The World Bank. Key takeaways highlighted the crucial need for robust #NCDfinancing through #primarycare and #multisectoral partnerships, sparking a new wave of momentum. Our work implementing NCD care in Africa and Asia has provided tangible proof of turning that momentum into impactful action: 𝟭. 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺-𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀: In Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania, and Sierra Leone, our comprehensive NCD care approaches have driven significant clinical improvements within 6-12 months, reducing high-cost complications and paving the way for future savings. 𝟮. 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝗖𝗗 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲: Delivering NCD care at community and primary levels can be both more cost-effective and clinically effective than facility-based care alone. Our data shows that patients managed by community health workers and at primary care facilities saw a greater reduction in mean systolic blood pressure and fasting blood glucose levels compared to those at higher-level facilities. 𝟯. 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗖𝗗 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲: Integrating tools like SPICE has optimized resource allocation and patient care. These technologies support health workers in implementing digitized clinical guidelines and risk stratification, transforming NCD management through smart, data-driven decision-making

We partnered with Novo Nordisk and Medtronic LABS to work towards improving primary healthcare delivery for non-communicable diseases (NCDS) in particular Diabetes and Hypertension. In light of this we, held a quarterly Community data review with CHAs attached to the 6 I-CARE implementing facilities (Portreitz, Likoni, Tudor, Bokole, Magongo and Mwembe Tayari) to follow up on NCD (Hypertension and Diabetes) patients.

We are proud to announce the release of our 2023 Impact Report! This milestone year reflected a deep focus sustainable scaling in partnership with health systems, re-orienting care toward more data-driven approaches, and harnessing the power of data science and AI to optimize health system operations. SPICE also officially became a Digital Public Good, further cementing our strategy for country-led approaches to digital transformation. As we look to our upcoming year of breaking disease-siloed care delivery and focusing on integrated community and primary care, we continue to be grateful for the support of our partners around the world and on the ground in the countries we work in.
