We visited Kalobeyei to monitor the progress of one of our local beneficiary, a Community-Based Organization (CBO) Kalobeyei Initiative for Better Life (KI4BLI) that has greatly benefited from our localization program. This CBO has been implementing a transformative initiative aimed at strengthening self-reliance among refugee youth by enhancing their employability and entrepreneurial skills. Through this initiative, refugee youth are gaining access to specialized digital skills and entrepreneurship training, enabling them to navigate the modern job market and create sustainable businesses. The CBO has established a digital hub that serves as a training center, empowering youth to unlock new opportunities in the digital economy. This partnership is a key pillar of our localization efforts, which focus on equipping local organizations to drive impactful change in their communities.
At Kalobeyei Initiative for Better Life (KI4BLI), we are proud to highlight the strength of our partnership with HIAS Kenya, a collaboration that has been essential in advancing our shared mission. Together, we are committed to empowering both the host community and refugees through sustainable initiatives. Our recent capacity-building efforts have further solidified our ability to deliver impactful programs. This partnership is not just a collaboration; it's a shared vision for a future where everyone has the tools and opportunities to thrive. We are deeply committed to our primary objective: creating a more resilient and self-sufficient community. With HIAS by our side, we are confident in our ability to achieve this goal and continue making a meaningful difference. #EmpowermentThroughPartnership #BuildingResilientCommunities #DigitalFutureForAll #StrengthInCollaboration UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency United NationsUNICEFSolidarity Initiative for Refugees (SIR)FilmAid KenyaNanduri SateeshJesuit Refugee ServiceJesuit Worldwide Learning - Higher Education at the MarginsHIASSamuel Binja CimanukaHIAS Kenya

We are proud to announce the opening of a new office in Mombasa in collaboration with the Refugee Consortium of Kenya (RCK). This milestone represents a significant step forward in our mission to protect and support refugees and asylum seekers in the coastal region. The new Mombasa office will be a hub for both HIAS Kenya and RCK, enhancing our ability to provide critical services such as legal aid, psychosocial support, and community integration programs. By establishing a presence in this coastal city, we aim to reach a larger population of refugees and asylum seekers, ensuring they have access to the support and resources necessary to rebuild their lives. This partnership with RCK underscores our shared dedication to empowering vulnerable communities and promoting their rights and dignity. We appreciate U.S. Department of State-Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration for the support.

We at HIAS Kenya had the privilege of attending the SRHR Learning and Exchange Symposium hosted by MenEngage Alliance. The symposium was a powerful platform that brought together diverse voices committed to advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) across Africa. Our participation at this symposium deepened our understanding of the critical intersections between gender, health, and human rights. It reinforced our commitment to integrating gender equality and SRHR in our work, ensuring that every individual, regardless of their background, has access to comprehensive SRHR services and education. HIAS Kenya remains committed to advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) for all. Today marks 500 days of war in Sudan. Despite causing the world’s biggest displacement crisis, media attention is lacking. The humanitarian response is dangerously underfunded. Aid continues to be difficult to distribute. Let us repeat: We won't let the world forget about Sudan.
