Since 2021, the Taliban’s ban has prevented over 1.4 million Afghan girls from attending school, silencing their dreams and futures. At Brave Future, we’re committed to restoring their hope by providing access to internationally recognized education and empowering them to reclaim their future. Every donation, big or small, goes directly towards breaking down barriers to education for young people in underserved areas. Sometimes people tell me there’s no point to advocate for happiness in challenging contexts. And I couldn’t disagree more... Today I met with Marcela Nacif, founder of Brave Future to talk about their programmes and see where the School of Happiness could contribute. After learning about the “Her Right” initiative, which seeks to empower girls in Afghanistan with access to education, emotional support and training opportunities, I was struck by the following: These girls speak English, have laptops and WiFi. Yet, they have no freedom. In their late teens, they grew up with the right to go to school and pursue their passions. Three years ago, this right was taken away and recent morality laws have even banned them from singing. They are smart, determined and eager to learn. And their favourite pastime is daydreaming, where they can dare to imagine a future that is far from the reality that they currently live. I am thrilled to share that as a result of our discussions, the School of Happiness will deliver an 8-week programme on emotional resilience for these girls to develop the tools to cultivate hope, discover their strengths, express themselves and dare to dream of a better future. Thank you Brave Future for this opportunity. We can’t wait to get started! #happinessisaright #emotionalresilience #happiness

Education is a right, not a privilege. At Brave Future, we are driven by this core belief. We are thrilled to support young girls as they chase their dreams of higher education, breaking barriers and building a brighter future for themselves and their communities. Today, we’re sharing the personal story of one of our remarkable learners—an inspiring journey that exemplifies the power of education to transform lives. A Student's Journey: From Despair to Hope "The day we were informed that we had to leave school immediately felt like something inside me had broken. I saw my friends saying tearful goodbyes, knowing we were all forced to drop out. As I looked at my school for the last time, it felt like the end of the road for us as girls. I remember returning home that day, no longer the happy girl I once was, but crying and thinking about my dreams that now seemed unattainable. For a long time, I held onto a small hope that things might change. During that period, I was a mix of disappointment and hope, but nothing changed. I faced two choices: give up forever or continue with everything I had. I chose to continue. Despite the difficult conditions in my city, where even courses were not allowed for girls, I decided to study online and improve my English. Although I had lost interest and feared disappointment again, I persevered. Finally, the day came when I saw a registration notification for Brave Future on WhatsApp. I was so excited, feeling a renewed sense of hope. I participated in the information session, and my interest and excitement grew. I spoke with my mother about the opportunity, expressing my desire to register and continue my studies. She encouraged me, saying, 'You can do it.' I successfully joined Brave Future by passing the registration process. This opportunity is a way for me to fly towards growth, creativity, and success. Brave Future has given my dreams a new color: hope, enthusiasm, and interest. Through this program, I have met many commendable individuals, and I am confident that I will succeed with my efforts. I am deeply grateful for this opportunity and the support provided to us in these challenging times. Thank you very much, Brave Future. I truly appreciate it." If you would like to help us create more opportunities for girls to access the education they deserve, please donate today. https://lnkd.in/dbsEwqCq #EducationForAll #BraveFuture

Last week, our learners at Kakuma Hub had an inspiring "I Am Remarkable" workshop, led by Sara Cerveira Pinto and Salomé Peralta, which empowered everyone to celebrate their achievements. By encouraging self-reflection and discussion, the workshop sought to inspire each participant to confidently share their accomplishments and recognise their worth, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of confidence and pride in their unique journeys and achievements. Let us remember that we are remarkable, and each of our achievements contributes to building a brighter and braver future for all 🧡 .

We’re starting the new semester at our Kakuma hub with a powerful connection! 🧡 Our team in Portugal joined our Learning Mentor, Charles, and the inspiring parents of Kakuma, connecting across continents to discuss learners' progress and share feedback. 📈🎓 This meeting is more than just a conversation; it’s a testament to how technology and human connection can transform education, even in the most challenging environments. With just a screen, an internet connection, and a shared vision, we’re making world-class education accessible to those who need it most. 🌐💻 At Brave Future, we believe that education is not limited by geography or resources. We’re redefining learning by bringing quality education directly to communities, wherever they are. We’re breaking barriers and building brighter futures—one screen, one learner, one step at a time. 🛤️✨ Support in creating a brave new future for education.
