One of the most common questions SMEs ask is, "How can I build a sales team that reflects our brand values?" It’s not just about closing deals; it’s about making sure your sales team aligns with what your business stands for. A sales team that truly reflects your brand can create lasting impressions and strengthen your business. The Bottom Line, Building a sales team that reflects your brand values is an ongoing commitment. By defining clear values, and hiring the right people you’ll create a sales team that truly represents your brand. As an employer, remember that your sales team is the face of your brand. So, ask yourself and your team: Are we truly representing what we stand for? #sales #salesteams #recruitment

"Does offline marketing and branding still exist, or is it too traditional?" This was a question posed by a participant during a training session at Britam. My answer? Absolutely, it works—but how you approach it makes all the difference. Think of it this way: Building a network that knows what you do offline is essential. But how can you do it creatively? Here are 4 ways to showcase your personal brand offline: 1. Leverage Your Network: Often, we overlook the potential in our existing contacts. I recently spoke with a friend who's not very active online, yet her business thrives. Her secret? Her first clients were friends and family, who then referred her to their networks. She also regularly checks in with her clients over coffee to keep relationships strong and find ways to help them better. 2. Networking Events: These events are goldmines if you're looking to build a client database. Ask yourself, "Who is this event for? What can I bring to exchange contacts? How can I position myself?" By targeting the right people and preparing well, you can close deals on the spot. 3. Workshops or Speaking Engagements: Think about the biggest pain point your clients face. For example, in the insurance industry, if your clients struggle with saving, consider offering a workshop on financial planning. This positions you as an expert and allows you to introduce products that can help solve their problems. 4. Booths and Stands: Earlier this year, at our Sales Fest event, a lady selling coffee scrubs stood out. She offered samples for people to test on their skin, and the results were so impressive that she sold out by the end of the event. This hands-on approach made her brand memorable. Now, what has been your most effective way of branding yourself offline? #personalbranding #businessbranding #networking #brandingandbusiness

Sales shouldn’t be a one-size-fits-all approach. Most people get overwhelmed thinking about how to make more and more sales. But that usually ends in chaos, not clarity. Here’s the key: To sell more, you need to tailor your approach to each client’s unique needs. Think of it this way: Imagine you’re shopping for a suit. A one-size-fits-all suit might fit, but it won’t make you feel confident or comfortable. It won’t highlight your best features or meet your specific needs. Sales are just like that. A generic pitch might get you in the door, but it won’t close the deal. So, how do you tailor your sales pitch? Start with these questions: >>What do you sell? Understand your product and how it solves specific problems. >>How do you want to generate traffic? Identify the best methods to attract your ideal customers. >>What kind of funnel should you build? Design a process that guides your prospects from awareness to decision-making. >>Which channel is right for reaching your audience? Choose where your target audience hangs out—email, social media, events, etc. When you tailor your sales approach to each client, you create a personal connection that leads to trust and ultimately, more sales. PS: Have you booked your early bird ticket for the Business and Branding Networking Event? Get your ticket before July 30th and learn how to close sales effectively by tailoring your approach. What’s the Best Way to Start Building a Personal Brand from Scratch? Listen, people trust people before brands. And let's not forget that before anyone interacts with you, they often check your online presence to see what you do and who you do it for. It’s become inevitable in this techy world we live in. -Before a company hires you, they go online. -Before a brand calls you to speak, they run a search online. -Before the young woman with acne buys your skincare product, she checks your online footprint. -Before the young man buys property from you, even if it was a referral, he checks you out—probably on Facebook. But what if they go online and they don't find you? You see, a lack of an online presence can make you virtually invisible, and in today's world, invisibility can mean missed opportunities. Personal branding has now become a necessity, not just a nice-to-have. So if you've been thinking about personal branding and are unsure where to start. Here’s a cheat sheet for you: >We are a-[what are you] >helping-[who do you serve] >to-[how do you uniquely serve them] >by-[what do you do] >And we do it because-[why do you serve them] There you go—your brand is now defined, clear, and ready to be showcased to the world. My Experience at the BNI Meeting:14/08/2024 __________ I was privileged to be subbing my executive, Eunice Maina in the BNI Global Meeting which kicked off precisely at 6:30 AM sharp—punctuality is practically a religion here. And you know, timekeeping is crucial not just in BNI, but in all aspects of our lives—whether in our careers, businesses, or personal activities. Respecting time demonstrates professionalism, enhances productivity, and helps build trust with colleagues and clients. BNI’s commitment to timekeeping is truly impressive. You have exactly 45 seconds for your presentation, and if you don't stick to it, your microphone might just get turned off, leaving you talking to the void. Luckily, I navigated this high-stakes game of "talk fast or face the silence" without a hitch😉. Here are a couple of key takeaways from the meeting: 1. The true value of networking is not how many people we meet, but how many people we can introduce to others🔥 2. How to stand out in a crowded market, one strategy-the power of establishing your authority through teaching, sharing or even writing value.✌ All in all, it was a fantastic experience—full of lessons and just a touch of adrenaline! 😄

If you’re still struggling to sell post-maandamano, then something is missing. I’ve had conversations with several business owners and companies recently, and the common complaint is that business is slow. But when I ask them about the root cause, the answers often vary. Here’s the truth: Selling involves three key parts – the 3Ms. >Message >Market >Media If you’re struggling, then you likely have a problem with one of these areas. - Message: Is your core message clear to the right audience? Imagine you're a company offering eco-friendly products. If your message is too generic or doesn’t communicate the unique benefits of your product, your target audience might not see the value. You need to articulate exactly why your product is the solution they’ve been searching for. -Market: Are you talking to the right people? Let’s say you’re targeting small businesses, but your product is better suited for large enterprises. No matter how good your product is, if it’s not what your audience needs, you won’t make sales. You must understand your market deeply— What need, want, or desire does your product fulfill? Who has that need? How can you reach them most effectively? Where can you run marketing that will reach the people most likely to buy your product based on their purchasing behavior? _Media: Are you leveraging the right channel? Imagine trying to sell a B2B service using only Instagram ads, when your ideal clients are more active on LinkedIn. Even with the right message and market, using the wrong channel can hinder your sales efforts. If any of these areas are misaligned, it’s time to reevaluate and adjust your strategy. 📌If you still haven't grabbed your Early Bird Ticket for the Business and Branding Networking Event you should click the link and grab your early bird ticket. ❌❌ Is your personal brand failing to connect with people? ❌❌ The reason might be deeper than you think—it’s about creating lasting connections and familiarity. This is what we call the Familiarity Principle. Have you ever noticed how some brands just stick with you? Take Ketepa Tea, if you grew up in Kenya, there’s a good chance you’ve been sipping on Ketepa since you were a child. Whether it was in your mom's kitchen or served to guests during family gatherings, Ketepa Tea was always there. It’s the same tea you likely carried into adulthood. Why? Because it's familiar. It’s part of your routine, your memories, your life. It’s about building a brand that people not only recognize but also feel a deep connection to because it’s been a consistent presence in their lives. Here’s how can you apply this to your personal brand?  🚨 Clear, Repetitive Messaging: Be clear about who you are, what you stand for, and what you offer. 🚨 Build Trust Through Consistency: Show up regularly, deliver value consistently, and your audience will start to trust and rely on you. 🚨 Create Emotional Connections: The reason we love certain brands is often tied to emotions and memories. The Familiarity Principle isn't just about being known; it's about being remembered and valued. Are you ready to build a brand that sticks? Sign up for the Business and Branding Networking Event. Learn how to leverage your personal Brand and marketing for business growth and sales. Grab your early Bird at 2,500ksh with the word "BUSINESS & BRANDING".30 slots remaining.
