Jubilee Housing’s mission is to build diverse, compassionate communities that create opportunities for everyone to thrive. We believe that  Justice Housing® – deeply affordable homes, in thriving neighborhoods with nearby services, is how can accomplish out mission.

We envision a city and a world where access to basic resources and opportunities are available to all people and where people live out these opportunities in the context of supportive community.
We live in a society where those experiencing poverty and disenfranchisement have limited access to opportunity. As long as our world operates this way, our top priority will be to seek justice for those who have been left out of the mainstream and help individuals and families thrive and ensure that there is a place in our city for those at risk.

Jubilee’s Reentry Housing Initiative provides supportive transitional housing and wrap-around services for men and women who are looking to rebuild their lives in a supportive, drug- and alcohol-free environment. Jubilee operates two reentry homes which serves up to ten women and ten men. Housing is absolutely necessary for successful transition back to the community, and providing secure, healthy housing is the cornerstone of Jubilee’s Reentry Housing Initiative.

The program is for people who wish to live drug and alcohol free and most residents will have employment. The length of stay is about one year with the goal of being transitioned into permanent stable housing.

The program offers the following services:

Housing

We believe when a person returns home from incarceration, they deserve access to all the resources that will help them succeed in the community, including a safe, welcoming home to return to each day. Our men and women’s houses include a shared kitchen, dining room, living room and laundry room, each serving up to 10 individuals at a time. We celebrate our residents’ arrivals home and provide a living environment supporting the growth and restoration needed to achieve their goals.

Case Management

The common room of the Jubilee Men’s Reentry House.

Case management focuses on issues that include a resident’s needs, strengths, and concerns.  The goal is to stabilize and improve the resident’s quality of life through advocacy, weekly communication, and resource management, which ensures the best possible outcome towards independence.

Money Management

A monthly budget is created with the Financial Empowerment Coordinator so that each resident can see their spending and savings habits. Residents will need to open a bank account and deposit 30% of their income into their savings to help towards seeking housing.

Employment

Residents are encouraged to seek employment, either full-time or part-time. Employment is an important factor during transition to assist with working towards gaining income in order to secure a stable and safe living environment.

Recovery Support

Residents are supported by staff to assist with substance abuse issues to support sustained recovery. Residents are encouraged to attend meetings and meet with Recovery Support Workers to maintain sobriety and move forward with living substance free life.
