We interview a marketing manager who strives to provide doctors and patients with new treatment options for allergic conjunctivitis and realize an “itch-free world," and an R&D manager who led the process from drug formulation conception through development, asking them about the difficulties and interesting aspects of LCM product development. ※日本語は英語の後に続きます  [Exhibition Booth at CÉCITOUR TOKYO]  In May 2024, CÉCITOUR TOKYO took place at Sophia University's Yotsuya campus. CÉCITOUR is a sports awareness project for the visually impaired that was launched in France in 2023. CÉCITOUR teamed up with the university student organization “Go Beyond, the Sophia Olympic and Paralympic Student Project” to implement CÉCITOUR TOKYO, the first such event in Japan.   Santen sponsored the event and jointly hosted a booth with the Japan Blind Football Association (JBFA). At the booth’s “Blind Soccer Experience Corner,” 103 people were able to try their hand at blind soccer wearing eye masks. Santen employee Kento Torii, a Paralympic athlete for Japan’s Blind Football Men’s Japan National Team, was on hand to demonstrate how to shoot the ball and give tips to participants.   The event also included activities that allowed participants to experience what it’s like to live with low vision and blindness. Among these were a “low vision” experience in which participants were asked to wear special glasses that reduce visibility, and a time trial in which they competed to complete a number puzzle while blindfolded.  At the end of the day, Sophia University Go Beyond members commented that they “would like to continue moving toward the realization of a symbiotic society.”  As a company specialized in eye health, Santen has entered into a long-term partnership with the JBFA and the International Blind Football Foundation to promote activities aimed at realizing an inclusive society where everyone can live in harmony irrespective of visual impairment.    【セシツアートウキョウ（CÉCITOUR TOKYO）にブースを出展】  2024年5月、上智大学の四谷キャンパスで「セシツアートウキョウ（CÉCITOUR TOKYO）」が開催されました。  セシツアーは、2023年にスタートしたフランス発の視覚障者スポーツ啓発イベントで、セシツアーが上智大学の学生団体「ソフィア オリンピック・パラリンピック 学生プロジェクト　Go Beyond」とタッグを組んで日本で初めて実施したのが、「セシツアートウキョウ」です。  Santenは本イベントの主旨に賛同し、協賛ならびにブース出展を日本ブラインドサッカー協会（以下、JBFA）と合同で行いました。ブース内の「ブラインドサッカー体験コーナー」では、103名の方に視界を遮断してプレイするブラインドサッカーを体験していただきました。Santen社員で、先日ブラインドサッカーでパラリンピックの日本代表選手に選ばれた鳥居健人も参加し、シュートのデモンストレーションや蹴り方のコツを伝えました。また、視野が欠けて見える特殊なメガネを参加者につけてもらう「見えにくい（ロービジョン）」体験や、目隠しをして数字パズルを完成するまでの時間を競うタイムトライアルなど、ロービジョン＆ブラインドの世界を体感できるコンテンツも用意しました。  一日を終え、主催者である上智大学のGo Beyondメンバーは、「今後も共生社会の実現に向けて歩みを続けていきたい」とコメントしています。  Santenは、眼科に特化したスペシャリティ・カンパニーとして、視覚障がいの有無に関わらず交じり合い、いきいきと共生する社会の実現を、JBFAとインターナショナル・ブラインドフットボール・ファウンデーションと共に推進しています。 CÉCITOUR とは: https://lnkd.in/gpNmhGck

※日本語は英語の後に続きます [Santen Recognized for Longstanding Commitment to Nippon Lighthouse Guide Dog Training Program] Nippon Lighthouse (headquarters: Osaka) has presented Santen with a certificate of appreciation for the company's longstanding support of the organization, including donations to its guide dog training program. The certificate of appreciation was presented during a ceremony at Santen headquarters in April 2024. In Japan, as of the end of March 2023, there are 848 guide dogs. However, given the estimate that at least 3,000 people need guide dogs, the reality is that the use of guide dogs has not yet sufficiently spread in the country. Since 2013, Santen has continued to make donations for guide dog training, contributing to training 11 guide dogs to date. ※日本語は英語の後に続きます [17 Visually Impaired Children Participate in “17th Santen Brasaka Kids’ Camp in Kansai”] The “17th Santen Brasaka(Blind Football) Kids’ Camp 2024 in Kansai,” under special sponsorship by Santen was held in March 2024, in Kyoto. This event provides visually impaired children with opportunities to experience and engage in sports on a daily basis outside of school. 17 visually impaired children and their parents/guardians arrived from all over the country to participate in this year’s camp with Santen employees and coaches. Children ages ranged from grade 1 to junior high school grade 3. They enjoyed sports and activities such as tandem bicycling, ball play and BBQ. Held a Workshop Based on Blind Soccer® and Cooking] On March 7, 2024, Santen and Ajinomoto Co. held a “DE&I Exchange Workshop” to consider what it means to have an inclusive society where everyone can live in harmony irrespective of disability.    Santen employee Kento Torii, a designated player for Japan’s Blind Football Men’s Japan National Team and an excellent cook, joined Ajinomoto Co. employees to have a blind soccer experience and cook a meal using Ajinomoto products. He shared his thoughts and feelings as a visually impaired person, explaining the effort needed and importance of communicating in a considerate manner, and introduced his own unique way of cooking.
