The Northwest Ohio Innovation Consortium (NOIC) (Ohio, USA), of which 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮, part of NSG Group, is a member, has received a significant grant from the Ohio Department of Development's Innovation Hubs program to establish a glass center. The center will be a shared space for a collaborative effort between The University of Toledo, Bowling Green State University, and local private sector companies to expand world class glass research for the solar panel, container, automotive, architectural, and fiber glass products. 𝗕𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝘆𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗞 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗼𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗴 Last week, some of our sites in the UK had a visit from a different kind of four-legged friend. We welcomed ‘Spot’ the robot dog to Cowley Hill and NGF Europe in St Helens, an invention by US company Boston Dynamics. During the visits, we tasked the robot with a series of challenges around our sites, programming it to capture thermal imagery, detect staged air leaks and navigate around the complex environments. Peter Lai, Continuous Improvement & 4IR Manager at NGF Europe, said: “It was great to welcome Spot and the Boston Dynamics team to our sites in St Helens this week to learn more about how robotics can help companies shift towards a predictive maintenance approach, and this gave us a great insight into how we can use the best data possible to inform our decision making.” #robot #robotics #glassindustry #glasscord #nsggroup #nsg #bostondynamics
