The #HPC headlines this week were all about quality over quantity. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) got the ball rolling on Monday by announcing it is seeking proposals for a successor to Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Frontier #supercomputer. Also on Monday, UC San Diego launched its new School of Computing, Information and Data Sciences. On Wednesday NAG’s parent company n2 Group made the news with its acquisition of fintech specialist STAC. PsiQuantum grabbed national headlines on Thursday with its ambitious plans to build the first US-based utility-scale #QuantumComputer in Chicago.
