It’s holiday season, time for friends, family, and beach trips! 🏖️ This is why we dedicate this post to the pail and toolbox in the picture, which have their origins in the fishing industry. ♻️   Sustainability is the number one innovation driver of the Finnish ORTHEX Group. The material for the pail and toolbox, presented here by Alexander Rosenlew and Tom Ståhlberg, comes from a Danish initiative that recycles old fishing nets from the sea. It’s amazing to see what’s possible with recycled material, isn’t it?   To efficiently process recycled material, Orthex is also working with iQ products. Since recycled material is subject to greater fluctuations than virgin material, smart assistance systems are needed to react to changing conditions.   For example, iQ weight control checks the injection pressure profile against a reference cycle during injection and automatically adapts the process parameters individually for each shot to suit the current conditions. This way, fluctuations in the environment and the raw material are automatically compensated for before rejects are produced. iQ weight control thus helps to increase the recycled material content in products. 💚   We are glad to have partners who share our motivation to keep pushing forward with sustainability.
