概要
Our mission is to elevate the standard of your standing works. Our vision is to free humanity from the burden of standing posture by technology and design and to realize a society where people across the globe live healthily forever. We sell and rent “archelis”, an exoskeleton suit that enables leg-strain-free standing works. When "archelis" is attached to the legs, the weight of the wearer is dispersed and supported by shins and thighs, making long-hour standing works easier.

A study conducted in the UK found that over 86% of surgeons surveyed reported musculoskeletal discomfort over the preceding 12 months. A further 86% of those doctors stated they believed this was related to their posture at work. Workplace injuries are one of the biggest contributors toward early retirement across all industries, and this is consistent within healthcare. Our doctors put their bodies and health on the line to provide life-saving care. We want to help those doctors, to try and reduce even a bit of the strain they feel at the end of a long day. By using Archelis, surgeons are able to perform operations as normal, but without the strain of standing for hours on end. Archelis is already helping extend the longevity of surgeons’ careers. Dr. Kenji Fukaya, Deputy Director of the Ayabe Renaiss Hospital Department of Neurosurgery, told us “If I didn’t have Archelis, I couldn’t continue to perform surgery”. #healthcare #exoskeleton #japan #surgeon Photo by Jonathan Borba on Unsplash

When it comes to improving working environments, it’s easy to forget the most important factor - the #workers. That’s why we at Archelis are focused on creating products that resonate with the workers who will actually use them day in, day out. We talked to workers at Miyoshi Inc. to ask their opinions of what it’s really like to use Archelis on the job. #japan #exoskeleton #healthyworkplace https://lnkd.in/g6TyiZUv

The world of logistics is constantly evolving and improving as new technologies are developed and adopted. As one of those new technologies, Archelis is proud to be included in the latest edition of the DHL Logistics Trend Radar. If any company understands #logistics, it’s DHL - and they found it fit to feature Archelis as a potential tool for attracting and retaining workers in supply chain operations. 🎉 Big News! 🎉 We are thrilled to share a new journal article featuring Archelis! The study aimed to determine if using a ‘wearable chair’ (Archelis!) increased mental strain in surgeons during simulated operations. We are pleased to report that the study concluded: “No significant differences in mental strain and subjective sensations for surgeons with or without the wearable chair, and during simulated surgical procedures with the chair, no notable negative effects were observed.” Archelis is already enhancing the lives and careers of surgeons in hospitals across Japan and the world. This study further validates our commitment to supporting healthcare professionals. #HealthcareInnovation #Research #WearableTech #Exoskeleton https://lnkd.in/gqnw_rtC

“There’s an ongoing skills shortage in the surgical field. Products like Archelis will help retain skilled doctors.” Yesterday was “#Respect for the Aged Day” in #Japan. According to recent NHK reports, over 25% of over 65s in Japan are in employment, totaling over 9 million people. This is the highest proportion of older age workers in Japan’s history. This comes accompanied by the highest number of workplace accidents and injuries suffered by older age workers. Around the world, nations are facing the prospect of aging populations, and it is becoming more common for people to work beyond traditional retirement age. This trend of longer careers must be recognized by #employers through the creation of welcoming working environments. According to the World Health Organization, low back pain is the leading cause of #disability worldwide. In a world that increasingly relies on aging workers, it is imperative for employers to try to prevent or reduce that back pain. This is especially true in workplaces wherein workers must stand for hours on end, oftentimes in unnatural postures and positions. This ranges from #surgeons to factory workers. Our mission at Archelis is to elevate the standard of standing work. We created an #exoskeleton designed to #support these workers, and worked alongside the Ministry of #Health, Labour, and Welfare to prove that by using the Archelis, muscle activity in the back and legs was reduced by up to 41%. We talked to Dr. Masakazu Aoki of Matsumoto Kyoritsu Hospital about his thoughts on using Archelis: “I’d recommend using it from an early age, to hopefully prevent future back pain. There’s an ongoing skills shortage in the surgical field, products like Archelis will help retain skilled doctors. Of course, surgical nurses are in the same boat as surgeons, often having to stand in surgery for the same length of time as the doctors, so it’d be great for them too.” What measures have you put in place to keep the workplace welcome to older workers?

We at #Archelis are proud to participate in the 60th Annual Congress of the Japan Society for Transplantation. The theme for this year’s conference is “The Power to Connect; The Power to Change”. At Archelis, we are dedicated to changing the notion that #surgeons must suffer from chronic fatigue and back pain due to their profession. Our #exoskeleton, Archelis, supports doctors and nurses during long surgeries by distributing weight from the feet to the thighs and shins. We believe that by alleviating part of the physical burden of #surgery, we can improve the lives of both doctors and their patients, creating a better, healthier world. 📢 🙋♂️ We’re delighted to welcome a new member to our team here at Archelis. Meet Daniel McCann, the newest face in our Sales and Marketing Department. We’re excited to work with him to bring our product to as many people around the world as possible! 🔥
Very happy to announce that I am now part of the team at Archelis Inc., an innovative #startup revolutionizing the world of standing work. Based in Yokohama, #Japan, their mission is to free the world from the burden of having to stand in one place for hours. Their passive #exoskeleton allows people like #surgeons who are on their feet for upwards of 12 hours to “sit down” while still standing. I’ll be part of the Sales and Marketing Department, to try and expand this cutting edge technology to people around the world.

"I don't feel as tired after work anymore" In an already difficult working environment, surgeons often stand for hours on end with little to no respite. At Archelis, we aim to reduce the physical strain on doctors and nurses who work tirelessly to care for us. We talked to Dr. Michitomo Kawahito of the Shizuoka City Shizuoka Hospital how he felt after using an Archelis. His feedback shows the difference our product can make in the lives of medical professionals. #hospital #health #exoskeleton Watch here: https://lnkd.in/gCZV7KjQ
