Still on the lookout for a summer job? Follow these steps to ease the process: 1) Review your social media content - First impressions are the most lasting. Featuring expletives and alcoholism on your page won't create a positive impression but they will last in the memories of your potential employers. Once posted, always posted. 2) Check with your school - Your institution is likely to have career centres or counsellors that will either be posting opportunities for you to explore during the summer or can connect you with agencies that are offering such opportunities. Don't put your eggs in one basket! 3) Customise your resume - To stand out, you need to update your resume to match the requirements of the specific jobs to which you're applying. In other words, if that past job or skill is irrelevant to the current one, it needs to go. Stand by for more tips. The #heat is on! Here are some ways to protect workers from heat stress - 1) Advise workers to wear clothing that is breathable, light-coloured, and loose-fitting - Functionality over fashion ability. Dark colours naturally asbsorb more light meaning you're more likely to become overwhelmed by the summer in them. The same goes for thick and tight clothing. Your health is your wealth. Our health is our health. 2) Install AC System/Fans - Air conditioning and fans not only save workers from the possibility of heat strokes but keep equipment safe from the effects of excessive heat as well keeping everything in running order. 3) Add Greenery - As plants absorb carbon dioxide as a part of photosynthesis, they can make enduring heat a much easier experience by posing a constant challenge to the impact of climate change. #beattheheat #summer #climatechange #heatsafety #heatstroke #hotweather #drought
