About Nightwalkers

Nightwalkers (or Nightwalkers.io) is a free zombie survival game 🧟‍♂️ that runs in your browser 🌐, featuring real multiplayer 🎮.

Gameplay

 The game includes several mechanics:

• Zombie Shooting 🔫
• Noise 📢
• Apocalypse ☠️
• Building 🛠️
• Resource Management 🛢️
• Player Leveling 📈
• Most importantly, Co-op 🤝

Noise 📢

Noise becomes a challenge after Level 2 🙃.

• On the right side of the weapons bar, you'll find the Noise Meter UI 📊.
• Most actions create Noise, turning the meter red 🔴.
• Standing still reduces Noise, turning the meter blue 🔵.
• When the Noise Meter fills up, zombies 🧟‍♀️ are alerted and will hunt you down!

As you level up, you generate more Noise 📢, but at Level 10, you unlock Silent Boots 👟, which let you run silently.

Apocalypse ☠️

Players can trigger an Apocalypse using the Skull button 💀 in the bottom left corner (shortcut key: Y).

• The first Apocalypse is weak but gets stronger each time 💪.
• If the player who starts it takes shelter 🛡️ in the Safe Zone, their Apocalypse cooldown will be significantly longer ⏳.

Building 🏗️

What’s a survival game without some building? 🛠️

Press B on your keyboard to open the 🌀 circular building menu. Each structure has a limit based on your level 📈—the higher your level, the more you can build!

• Wooden Fence 🧱: A basic defense to stop zombies 🧟‍♂️... until they break it.
• Bear Trap 🐻: Traps and damages zombies (except the sneaky Tentacle Zombie 🐙). After a zombie dies, the trap resets after a short cooldown.
• Flame Turret 🔥: Shoots fire in a cone—perfect for AOE (area of effect) damage!
• Spike Trap 🌵: Hurts zombies as they stumble over it. Ouch!
• Oil Spill 🛢: Slows zombies walking through it 🐌.
• Crafting Table 🛠️: Unlocks at higher levels! 🆙 Right-click it to access a unique crafting menu where you can make Machine Guns 🔫 and Crossbows 🏹. It's costly 💰, so team up and build just one!
• Medical Tent ⛺: Also unlocked at higher levels. Right-click to access crafting for healing items 🩹. It's a must-have for staying alive!

Resource Management 📊

There are 6 types of resources in the Nightwalkers:

• Wood
• Metal
• Circuit Boards
• Fairy Folds
• Snake Beard
• Cosmic Dust

Wood

• Acquired by shooting benches and crates.
• Mainly used to create Wooden Fences 🛡️, your first line of defense against the zombie horde 🧟‍♂️.
• While the Crafting Bench 🛠️ and Flame Turret 🔥 require more wood, the fence limit is much higher, so don’t hesitate to spam them early on!

Metal

• Gathered by damaging lamp posts and trash cans 🗑️.
• Most often used for building Bear Traps 🐻, which have a high build limit and are essential for slowing down zombies.

Circuit Boards

• Found in house-hold electronics like TVs and streetlights 💡, and the more alien tech too.
• A key material for crafting advanced defenses like Flame Turrets 🔥.

Fairy Folds

• Found in the forest 🌲.
• Used at the Medical Station in the Medical Tent ⛺ to craft healing medpacks 🩹.

Snake Beard

• Another ingredient found in the wild 🌳, needed for crafting medpacks alongside Fairy Folds.

Cosmic Dust

• A mysterious resource gathered passively even while AFK ⏳.
• Purple particles fall from the sky, and the more you absorb, the stronger you feel 💪.
• Cosmic Dust acts like a free currency 💵 and enhances your power, attracting gifts and submitting beasts 🐾.
• Noobs present you with gifts in hopes of you protecting them 🛡.
• Earned through almost any activity—or even inactivity—and doesn’t require looting.

Player Leveling 📈

• Leveling up is the main way to progress.
• Earn Experience by shooting objects for materials and killing zombies 🧟‍♀️.
• Level rewards include:
  • Resources 🛢️🌿
  • Weapons 🔫
  • Health packs 🩹 (use with E key).
  • Higher building limits 🏗️.
  • New buildings unlocked 🏰.
  • Special perks like Laser Sight 🎯 and Silent Boots 👟.

Controls 🎮

The controls are the usual WASD keys or arrow keys and the mouse for aiming.

• Movement: WASD or Arrow Keys ⬅️⬆️➡️⬇️.
• Aiming: Use the mouse 🖱️.
• Actions:
  • Left Mouse Button: Shoot weapon 🔫 or place a building 🏗️.
  • Right Mouse Button: Exit building mode or open the Crafting Table menu 🛠️.
  • Shift: Sprint 🏃‍♂️.
  • Spacebar: Jump 🦘(over walls, fences, etc.)
  • E: Use medpack 🩹.
  • Y: Start an Apocalypse ☠️.
  • P: Open pets UI 🐾.
  • N: Summon a mount 🐎 (if unlocked).
  • B: Open building menu 🏗️.
  • 1–6 Keys: Equip previously acquired weapons.

Tips 💡

• Gather materials early by shooting objects. This levels you up quickly.
• Team up for better survival chances—it’s a co-op game! 🤝
• Start your base with fences 🛡️ to protect your inner defenses, like Flame Turrets 🔥.
• Use traps 🐻 to immobilize smaller zombies and focus on larger threats 🧟‍♂️.
• Save the Hardcore button for when you have a strong, well-protected base 🏰.
