Today we announced our H1 2024 Results 🗣 Our CEO, @Martin Horgan said: “Our focus on operating performance has enabled us to take advantage of stronger gold prices to deliver improved EBITDA and a significant increase in free cash flow. Looking ahead to H2 2024, the commencement of the grid connection project will build on our recent success in taking costs out of the business, with commissioning due in H1 2025. At the same time, we are advancing the organic growth opportunities within our portfolio. The completion of the DFS at Doropo shows a very robust project; we are now well positioned to apply for a mining licence which we expect should be granted by the end of 2024, ahead of a final investment decision. The panel covered the ever-evolving role of the gold industry, as well as touching on Centamin’s business model and how the Company continues to modernise and advance our industry through: ☀️ Solar investment to advance decarbonisation We are fortunate to have our operations located in Egypt, one of the world’s leading countries for solar investment. Centamin currently sources approximately 60% of daytime power needed at our Sukari gold project from solar, with near-term plans to reach 100%. This has currently replaced 22 million litres of diesel usage and delivered approximately $20m of annual cost savings. 👷♀️ Addressing gender inequality in the industry We are determined to represent the change we wish to see in our industry, by investing in and promoting opportunities for women to take on technical and leadership roles. 🤝Creating long-term growth through successful partnerships We share every dollar of profit in an equal 50/50 split with the Egyptian Government, creating a fair share of the financial reward from Sukari. 📣Q1 RESULTS📣 🎯Production and cost guidance reiterated ✅Disciplined cost management delivered a reduction in absolute costs Martin Horgan, CEO 🗣️ “The scheduled processing of lower-grade ore from the open pit, alongside the planned underground ventilation upgrades and mill maintenance during Q1 contributed to slightly lower production year-on-year (“YoY”). Our commitment to cost control meant our AISC on an absolute basis decreased 3% quarter-on-quarter (“QoQ”) and 6% YoY; albeit the lower production coupled with the timing of gold sales resulted in a temporary increase in reported unit costs. With improved ventilation and the processing of lower grade open pit ore substantially completed during Q1, we expect production rates to now increase for the balance of the year and reaffirm our 2024 production and cost guidance ranges. We continue to advance organic growth opportunities within our portfolio.
