Thank you! Due to being a Game Jam game, it does have little content. I am working on a full polished version with many more levels and weapons to play around with. The free demo, which contains the first level, can be downloaded via Steam. Let me know what you think!
I believe the scary parts are fun, for improvements, Poltergeist zones should be sandwiched between decent gun fights and simple puzzles that impede progressing , like having to move a truck to get onto a building or something? My suggestions are just sugary donuts... eat em or throw em out with the tofu I don't clutch these pearls! Lol. Good game
Everything is appreciated! I've already planned some unique sections that break the pacing to some extent. A moving truck could be a fun callback to GoldenEye its first level though.
Regarding the horror playthrough, it will mostly be focussed on psychological horror with lesser action. However, I have planned that you can enable some of the more fun elements in the second (non-horror) playthrough, such as some of the unique enemies.
I don't mind replaying levels especially if the guys could be standing in different placements and facing different ways each time... That would maybe be cool as well!
I won't be adding much randomization, mostly to make sure that the playthrough is equal for everybody.
That being said, I have planned to add a set of (very) difficult challenges which unlock some very fun (secret) stuff.
Depending on how development goes, I might even add some bonus content. This can be compared to CoD WaW its extra zombie mode. However, I can't make any promises yet!
I was on the verge of a heart attack, even though I'm wired to fight in dangerous situations. Sucker got me in the back. Lucky me I got the body armor in the tunnels. The pistol works well to sic the guards for their more effective AR20.
Misc.: My character lunged forward when I was making for the body armor in the Abnormal side, making me think he was relieved to find some protection from whatever the heck THAT is.
Favorite weapon:
Normal - AR20. In mid-range accuracy is good enough, and aiming lets you pop shots at range, sidestepping the sniper almost.
Abnormal - SMG. The corruption wants to charge at you, so the SMG is the obvious choice here since they go faster than you.
Would love to see the "normal" parts fleshed out into a fully fledged game - that's a solid retro shooter right there. The horror bit fell flat IMO, but I think part of that feeling was just disappointment as I was enjoying the regular game so much.
Haha very glad you liked the regular gameplay though. I will change the horror a bit for the full game and make it a bit more of a gradual change. Furthermore, I was planning on adding a non-horror playthrough with various challenges after one finishes the game. If you have any suggestions, I would be glad to hear them.
I liked the overall idea of the game, but it's bugging out, and won't let me go past the 2nd level(In the tunnels)
I've watched a few gameplay vids of it, and It's supposed to "reset" and mine never does,Tried it for about 30 min,and still the same thing. Cool game, but Wish I couldve seenthe end myself
Thats really unfortunate as I haven't heard of any game breaking bugs yet. There is a door in the second level that is locked untill all `silo's` are destroyed. When entering the new area the game should reset after a couple error messages appear in the bottom left. Did you get to the area behind the locked door?
I kind of like how there's little explanation for what the hell happened and it just ends with a congratulations/completion screen after you finish the corrupted part like nothing went wrong
I actually really enjoyed the small segment that I got to play. Didn't finish it because I was playing this game for a video and wanted to keep it somewhat short but I still had a lot of fun! Here are my impressions of the game!
Excellent job with this game! It was not the typical horror game, which makes it special! I would love to see a full version get made! Keep up the great work! I will share this game in a Discord server for creators that I'm in
That was an awesome video, thanks man! Also really glad you liked the soundtrack as I had to put it together las minute haha. I'll probably make the full soundtrack downloadable/buyable on the full version if anyone is interested!
i HAVE ALWAYS loved when retro meets horror, and this reminds me alot of goldeneye 64 so i loved this alot! cant wait for the hour long version! models were great
I absolutely loved this game! I’m happy to hear that you’re going to make a longer version and can’t wait for it to come out! Hope you enjoy my video this version 😁
I love GoldenEye 64 and still play it sometimes, so this was a lot of fun to check out. It definitely got creepy toward the end. Thanks for making this!
So what I was trying to say in my video is that this game triggers a childhood fear in me, but also gives a nostalgic feeling. Games that were made for the N64 just hit differently, yeah the graphics and mechanics were a bit wonky but it worked in the end! However, they are not perfect when things go wrong in the cartridge or the console itself you get these creepy error readings, or in some cases the game works but things don't seem to look the same. Just think of it this way, you're about to play your favorite N64 game, and it's late at night, as you insert the cartridge you await the title screen only to get a black screen in white letters "Error Data Corrupted" or "Error Please Insert Game," followed by some brown noise and only the reflection of your face. As a child, those things spooked me I don't know why but it was creepy if that makes any sense.
Either way, can't wait for the full experience, I really want to know what happens afterward!
Really happy you enjoyed it! And yes, those old (corruption) glitches can be really creepy. When I was younger, I was scared of the word 'corruption' for a long time haha. I will be focussing more on the (creepy) glitch aspect in the full game as it will be a longer experience than this 'demo'.
Not a bad game for sure. Honestly, you could go both ways with this game if you wanted to. It'll be interesting to see how other people plays old school fps.
I know it's just a horror parody but it was a genuinely good action game with combat that felt really smooth and better than a lot of indie games that cost money. I'd totally be interested in buying a full game like this.
Glad to hear! I am currently working on a full version. The combat and especially the AI could use some work though. So I will definitely work on that.
REALLY liked this cool take on GoldenEye! Would love to experience multiple maps and find more lore! *Permission granted to use video playthrough for social media*
I Kid you not I though this was a different game. I can't really remember the name of it but it has a similar style to this. The complete surpise towards the latter half of the game has no words to describe it. I don't scare easy but geniunely I felt tension during the second half. Because of the forth wall breaking things also made me think I had installed the game wrong or something. Bravo! You actually spooked me.
(I'll also admit. I didn't look at the description for this until after I played the game. I'm somehow that stupid.)
I really feel empty wanting more of this game afterwards , I would like to play this game for the full 50 hr experience of a AAA it only needs some polish & expanding and it could be a cult classic itself oneday!
this is quite literally one of the most interesting concepts for a indie horror game I’ve ever played, an expansion upon this would be amazing! Great experience all around.

Appreciate the video and your comment! Whole lot more coming in the full game.
This one really needs more levels or something! I keep showing it to people that like this stuff since it is cool!

Really fun game, def a good recreation of the retro style with an awesome switch into a horror game! Def recommend playing!
Tried my best to capture the spirit of the 90s FPS games within the time frame I had. Glad you liked it, thank you!
2nd Game
I'm a bit late but at least its better than never
Never too late! Thank you for the video.

Haha nice story! Aiming for around 30 weapons in the full version, with a lot more levels and enemy types. :)
This game is really fun! I can't wait for the full release ;D
Thanks! It is coming along nicely, but there is a lot to be done still. Stay tuned!

just an option to play the campaign through - all the “normal” versions of the levels without the horror levels - would be great :)
I liked the overall idea of the game, but it's bugging out, and won't let me go past the 2nd level(In the tunnels)

Adds to the feeling of mystery
Glad that worked out fine as I didn't had any time to add more levels and a good ending haha.
This was a really cool game! Thanks for making it. :)
Thanks for playing it! Glad you liked it
Tiredcream6472 played this and he had plenty of fun both editing the video and playing the game
Glad he enjoyed it, I had plenty of fun making the game! (also with the full version I'm working on right now)

i HAVE ALWAYS loved when retro meets horror, and this reminds me alot of goldeneye 64 so i loved this alot! cant wait for the hour long version! models were great
Thanks! I will rework most of the models though, as they were put together in a very short amount of time.
Simply incredible.
Thanks, glad you liked it!
I absolutely loved this game! I’m happy to hear that you’re going to make a longer version and can’t wait for it to come out! Hope you enjoy my video this version 😁
That was a funny video haha. It could take some time before the full version is finished, but stay tuned!

Here's my channel for other games I have played. https://www.youtube.com/@Levont
Great work! 10/10
Man, I somehow didn't read the entire description and expected a regular Goldeneye clone. This is a twist I didn't see coming and it's executed well
Lol Wow this was a good one! Nice job!
Q & E switch weapons fyi
I never played a game that made me improvise a song for 2.5 minutes. 10/10
No Players Online was definitely where I got most of my inspiration from!

Thank you! I got a bit inspired by the Sonic.EXE creepypasta.
That was brilliant. Sending a few bucks your way.
Really appreciate it, glad you liked it!

I went in totally blind as well!
I really feel empty wanting more of this game afterwards , I would like to play this game for the full 50 hr experience of a AAA it only needs some polish & expanding and it could be a cult classic itself oneday!
The game you are faintly remembering is Goldeneye 007. And yes, you are right, this was amazing!
Believe it or not it wasn't goldeneye. Although this game captures that perfectly! The game I thought it was is another fan game called Agent 64
this is quite literally one of the most interesting concepts for a indie horror game I’ve ever played, an expansion upon this would be amazing! Great experience all around.
