I feel old and poor playing this.

Got up to the jungle boss, but then pressed "new game" instead of continue. Could you put the new game as the second menu option or have a warning if it will overwrite your save?

I love this kind of experimental weird stuff. Both the visuals and sound were spot on.

Fair enough. The goal was plenty clear even without any text.

Was there a way to read the messages or was their fate always going to be the trash can no matter what?

I thought this was going to be a game about the king "Hatching." Unfortunately, it was a fun city-builder/defense game with the spin of your buildings only producing anything while you watch them.

I tried it out and it works! Also, good job on adding the easy mode, I don't think it's possible to beat the hard AI.

You may want to add a little guide on how to find the EXE, it was a bit buried in the files.

Well done.

Yeah, it's the most 3D looking game I've ever played in scratch, but as you said, it's not really intended for that kind of thing. You pushed it for sure. :)

Yeah. No worries. That's to be expected of any online game, never mind one made by a single guy for a jam. Looks like it was a cute little game.

I found this game by pressing the random button but it seems it was an MMO made years ago and no longer connects. :(

Phew... That took me a solid hour to beat. There was rhythm involved, but it felt more like I had to become the game to actually progress. The little beat counter at the bottom seemed to be more distracting than helpful, maybe I don't understand its purpose, but it seemed to change each round.

I liked the art style, even though I have no idea what the story is.

Such a strange use of Scratch. Well done, I do wish I could move forwards or back, but I suspect that is not at all a simple task in the engine you picked.

Game played, Earth saved.

No problem at all. I liked the art and title so wanted to see what the game was all about.

I was not expecting to have to do some algebra, though. hopefully other players can remember... or have already learned how to do that.

Yeah, do be careful with how much you plan on doing versus what you can do. I know that kind of thing is slowing down my current game development. Too much "Wouldn't it be cool if ___" leads to a never finished project.

That would be a cool feature to add if you wanted to keep working on this project!

Thank you for considering me like that. I downloaded it and was more intent on figuring out the controls. I am on a different computer now, so that might have changed something, but I can now get it to work on the web player too.

Now that I know the controls, I likely could do it much faster, but I did finish it!

On my account page? Maybe... Shhh 🤫

Really? In one run I got this lattice shape that had voids in it that seemed to propagate very well.

That's a good plan to keep things manageable enough so you don't get overwhelmed as you start.

Great. :)

You bet. I'm glad I found your game.

It seems you have an absolute path (from the disc name to the file location) instead of a relative one. If you change this in the file, it works, Seems you'll have to recreate the .exe too.

P.S. I think it is impossible to beat the AI. Is there any way you could add a little randomness so that it can make mistakes?

(1 edit)

This game is hilarious (some music might be a nice addition). It reminds me of that game about a bear driving a car around to fatten up for the winter where you only controlled one arm.

This is really hard, though. It's tough enough just reversing after a crash since the gear selector springs back, but then the flies come to take your delivery. ha ha!

Edit: I just realized this is intended to be multiplayer. That would be much more fun.

The webplayer (at least for me Windows 10, Firefox) seems to not accept any keyboard input. :(

Works now. I appreciate the tight hitboxes.

Good job for your first game. It's an interesting idea to add effects to PONG.  I also like the little character versions of the paddles. I'm sure your next game will be even better now that you have one under your belt.

Why is the poor little guy so angry and why is it on the ground alone?

I downloaded it and seems like there is at least one .dll file you need to upload alongside the .exe so it can work.

🌽🌽 / 🌽🌽🌽

Lots of corn, but the maize maze is a bit on the small side. Well done for your first game.

Interesting little cellular automata. I was able to see that evolving aspect that you intended. Cool.

I know it's a demo, but it seems it ends with both the "yes" and "no" responses making Linda cry and the game just stops.

The real question of course is why is it "angry?"

No wonder the leaderboard wasn't updating anymore. Here's my results as it ended (4.03e-23).

Fun little game. I like the game-within-a-game execution. I wish we got to learn more about the characters, both the villain and the girl.

I forgot that was a mechanic in some side-scrollers...

Hmmm, I must have not looked around well enough then. The only path forward I found was just a little closet.

How do you get past this wall here? I can't seem to jump over it or break it.

I couldn't find the way out. Is there a way to open doors? I tried all the usual keyboard and mouse keys.
