doesnt necessarily need to be text, maybe some visual cues instead? I can understand where ur coming from though... looks alot cleaner without texts.

fun and cute little game, levels were definitely a challenge... some of the collisions could use some polish though, unless the characters being wall-phobic was intentional... the character does end up blending with the background at times, so a lighter colored outline for the character shud help with that
thanks for playing; for the limitation I wanted the team of 2 squids to be pretty realistic, so most of the time only 1 guy just does all the work while the other slacks of... glad it turned out as it is, very relatable :P
what bug are you referring to? also there's no collisions for the border since its not a wall, its just a line on the sand similar to a sumo arena.
thanks for playing, yeh i actually was supposed to make the other squid just follow around... but opted not too, being able to split up and cover more ground just felt super nice, also with the current controls u can just tap the swap button and have the squids move in tandem if ud like... basically i like giving players the option to play as they please.
a card game? ... in my game jam?... >:D yes please, truth be told I actually already played this earlier since i saw it linked for late submissions, overall concept pretty solid... though could definitely use a bit of polish, the fights felt like they drag on for too long... as card games go that makes sense (I play alot of LOR and Yu-gi-oh), but the currently implemented battle system is simple enough that it shudn't.
looking forward to this being developed further, always happy to see card games being made :3
gorgeous art style. very creative concept for the gameplay, definitely has a lot of charm...
I felt like the levels start off too strong, ended up panicking at times and didn't give me enough breathing room to stop and think. also the controls could use some tweaking specifically for refilling ink and selecting/placing towers.
I appreciate the concept, but I seem to have found myself stuck... downloading and opening the game... I was completely lost on what to do, took me a couple of minutes to go back and check the game page for clarifications, didn't help.
I'm not exactly sure how to progress further, trying to follow based on instructions, but visual feedbacks from the game isn't letting me know if I'm doing things correctly or not...
not sure if it was intended or just a bug, but things just flicker... im assuming the letter are supposed to be the color u selected, but it just flickers and turns everything back to grey. same with the berries and leaves, not sure if their supposed to appear on screen or just flicker in when u hover over them.
i haven't reached that level yet however
lul i just noticed this...
game is pretty charming, and definitely has potential when further developed...
I luv the visual effect of the map appearing as u explore, I was a bit confused on the black gauge on the side since it was very wide and was just a solid black color, a border surrounding it or at the very least separating it from the level would help.
thank you for the kind words, the artistic direction was actually driven by my lack of artistic skills :P ... every artist I knew was busy to join this jam with me.
was originally planning on adding some sort of timer and radar; since I also find myself looking for the last fish, but I actually quite liked the slow cozy pacing... very reminiscent of playing an old Y8 stickman sniper game, also finding the last fish actually felt pretty fun after a while, kinda like hide-and-go-seek... also plays well with the whole 'hitman squid' concept of hunting down ur targets
