thankyou so much for your kind feedback and i appreciate you taking time playing the game and submitting a review for it..
yeah ive been told the game is kind of difficult gameplay wise, and for the checkpoints yeah its more like if ure in the normal world it would take u 3 times to fall off to restart the whole level, but the alternate world kills u instantly.
i really hope u enjoyed playing our game. thankyou again for this kind review!
Never liked visual novels because of how much reading there is but this one is an exception, the feeling of the environment and the aesthetics around really made up for the sake of how fun this game was to me! every little detail along with multiple chapters being added i think the developer and the artist and the music producer really did well throughout this jam! and i only wish you guys the best to keep going because you all certainly have the talent for this!
Even though i kept trying and trying to get the second ending but somehow kept failing i wish i couldve gotten the second ending but nontheless this gave me a cold creepy feeling the how it gets misty and such, i can see a lot can be done to get the game even further! ty for the experience and i hope you keep going mate!
I LOVE these types of games because it gets too funny and too fun in the same time, the ratings added a nice touch to the game and the cozy feeling with the env and the audio really showed the quality of how well the game has been made, thankyou for this amazing experience and i cant wait to see more games from yall!
Hey Valonad! thankyou so much for taking your time playing this game
so answering your questions:
- Unfotunately i only had a little time for the options menu, so i just put the text there and kinda left it too quick because i had other bugs to fix
now for nahool and jumping And flying mechanics, we actually had 3 types of enemies, but some weird bug made it that it kept resetting itself and eventually it would get stuck underground, so we had to remove it due to lack of time. then comes our other 2 enemies, without realization one of the classes was a child of the other, in this scenario it was the grasshopper being a parent for the red panda, and i changed the grass hopper's attribute as the last thing i touched in code, and that made it reset for the red panda to just have the exact same stats.
The UI is a funny story, i would love it you can take 2 minutes and watch our video for the gameplay, so basically in our engine everything looked fine, the bee's health bar was red actually, and the flower's bar was green, but everytime we built the game, and packaged it, it kept disappearing and until this moment i have no idea why is it doing that.
lastly the grass shouldnt look white? i dont know what might have happened but its just another issue because each device depends on what their specs are, not that they are bad, but just yknow something being off with them.
i thankyou so much for this complete honest and detailed review, ill see them in advantage of fixing my upcoming projects!
this game has extreme potential, i loved the concept and the gameplay, the feel of the game was there but not fully implemented.
i think there were too many bugs regarding things being turned off. though that happens when u are running outta time. though i would love to see more of this whenever its all fixed and ready to be full released. all best wished to you and never stop grinding!
The game is AMAZING, i loved every part of it, it is tough to make a game where you try to make the player invested and not bored immeadiately, and you excelled in that part! i didnt even notice the time passing of how much fun i had playing this game, from the variety of enemies to the variety of plants (defenders) it was pure fun and well made mechanism.
suggestions:
The game felt in need of more SFX, such as an indicator of when the wave is done. and maybe making better audio for the impact of shooting/being hit
also it would be amazing if it had more animations, such as a walking animation and also some movement to the enemies and lastly the tree itself that the player is defending.
i finished playing this game, nice way to send a message, though it felt repetitive real quick, the tree's locations werent randomized, they were just adding up slowly, there was no indicator at first of that there is a timer (a clock ticking would have fixed that) and the environment probably needed more work. but despite the fact that this is made in 3 days is great. and i appreciate you putting your effort going solo in this game jam, well done!
The game was a bit too irrelevant to my expectations, there were really missed points that could have been added to the core gameplay, and that made it a little too boring? my plants dont seem to get sick after getting attacked or get sick at all, (which in the game's guide was saying otherwise) and really with no animations or indicators of an attack really left the game to be soulless.
looking to the brightside, i happen to know that at least the music was made by the team. the art was made also by the team, they used nothing from any third party assets, so kudos for that, and the idea around this is really good. though the way you visually showed it was not what should have been expected.
either way thankyou for your time making this game, and dont let this be your last, we all have our bad times and good times. and we learn from our mistakes.
so first of all, humpty dumpty was a pure fun addition to this game, it gave out kind of what the game is going to be, the idea of having a plant to defend while using other plants to defend was amazing, if only it was more personalized for a 1 player game that would be amazing, other than that the concepts were amazing, and i cant wait to see where this dev goes from here, good job!
sooo THE GAME HAS SO MUCH POTENTIALLL! but sadly it was bugged (from what the dev said) so i didnt get to see the game as a whole, now its obvious that there were no audio at all but still i admired the gameplay if only it wasn't bugged. other than that i love strategic games, and this game will be one of my favorites if it becomes a full game one day, thankyou so much for the experience. and goodluck!
i liked the concept of the game, unfortunately im lonely enough to have another person to play this game with me, so i couldn't enjoy it as much as im supposed to, which really made me feel bad about it i liked the vibe of the game, the classic sibling fighting scenario was well written, so good job on that!
i liked the concept of the game! first few minutes were kind of boring but then the game started to show off for what it has of content. i liked the way you implemented your idea around the theme where you plant your seeds, but not just that, u take care about them, and then they grow up and start giving you useful items, so that was well done! thankyou so much for the experience, never stop!
The game really was something different, i enjoyed it and it really shattered my heart listening throughout the story
however i know this is due to time being short but i would love if there was more scenery and gameplay in the game itself, other than that the concept was really heart-touching and it made me feel like i was being one of the family members. thankyou so much for this game, im looking forward to what you got to show us in the future.
To start with, the intro of the game was unexpected
The amount of effort in those cinematic scenes are well deserved, shows what unreal can do, the theme and the environment were stylized which is my favorite. But its a crime for not having a sprint button xD, other than that it had a good idea going on and the leaf turning into the princess was shocking, well done for every developer who designed the game! You just got a 5 stars rating from yours truely 😁
I loved it, the mechanism of the growing trees giving out multiple way to go through the levels was such an amazing idea, you used the theme where you can see it anywhere and in the same time keep using it without the feeling of repeating it every level.
giving out option with the rain when you should have a specifc amount of rain especially in oman's level surprised me to be honest, someone with 3 days could think of actual puzzles that need to be solved, well done man, my only complain here was if gharsoon had some sort of abilities (other than the rain because that was already something from the start) , something that can shift up the twists between each level, other than that well done mate! it was such an honorable experience.
once i started playing it, it reminded me of only up! xD
i loved the way you mixed to genres where there are questions each platforming phase, thought the questions felt kind of long and i believe there should have been more effort put into the theme other than just questioning facts about plants, nonetheless the game was fun. thankyou!
