Hey,

Thanks a lot for the feedback and we're glad you enjoyed it! :D

We're also really glad you liked the combination of mechanics. We used the game-jam as an experiment to see how the TD mechanic combines with the AutoChess mechanic (that can be found in TFT, Dota Auto Chess, etc.)

We didn't finish everything we wanted but the results and feedback we got were pretty good so we are thinking of going forward with this game and work a bit more on it. We hope you will try it once again when we have the next version!

Thank you very much, means a lot for us! We are super happy to know you had fun playing it!
We are currently working on developing it further! =D

Thank you very much! We are currently working on developing it further! =D

Thanks for trying it out.
I'm sorry for the screen size issue :(
We still struggle with Godot UI. In the future updates we will improve on that.

Thank you very much for your feedback and appreciation of the game! Unfortunately we ran out of time on creating a tutorial. Currently you can level up the plants by merging 3 of the same type together! And it's a power of 3 continuously on growing them in power. Each time you merge 3 of the same tier, they get stronger and stronger!

Here is an example of the merging mechanic if you wish to give the game another go!

Thank you again!

We had the same issue, ran out of time for tutorial and because of that, many players did not get the chance to play and upgrade our plants :'( . We also plan to develop our game further after the jam and fix all the issues mentioned so far :D

Good luck on your journey, would love to see more from you :D

We tried it on Chrome and encountered the issue. After that we downloaded the Windows version and enjoyed the game :)

Nice game, I enjoyed it even though it felt a bit slow for me personally.

I would have liked to see more interesting upgrades and overall the pace of the game feels slow.  I was hoping that the lvl 2 ship would allow me to equip multiple upgrades.
Another improvement I suggest is to add more randomness to the movement of the enemy ships.

The difficulty of the game is ok since each bullet is very punishing and the game seems quite polished.

Good job!

I loved the art and colors a lot in this game!

I figured the X button after noticing there must be something to help me get past the snowmen if jumping would not help me deal with them :D . I enjoyed the portrait mode of the game, I imagine it would work nice on mobiles!
It was a really interesting mechanic to have the snowballs recharge after a while and it made me strategize how I would spend them! Would be awesome to have the difficulty increase over time as well!

Would be cool to play this game again after an update with more visibility on obstacles and a small tutorial on keybindings/controls for new players :D

Nice idea, also liked the simple black & white theme that allows you to focus on the actual puzzle.

I noticed the web version doesn't look ok, has a lot of colored noise. That happened to my game as well when I exported and after some debugging I found out that it was the Ambient Occlusion (SSAO). If you disable that for the web export it should look normal again.

Had fun playing it, good job!

Very interesting take on the snake game, definitely had fun playing it :D

The only think I would change is maybe tone down a bit the screen shaking, the fact that it was occurring right as I was trying to make a turn would sometimes make me crash into water.

Also liked the small touches to the UI with the small houses.

Good job!

Hi, I'm sorry for the screen size issue :(. We still don't really understand how the UI works in Godot and we struggle a lot with it.
Sadly because of the screen size you probably also couldn't place the plants in the bottom "bench" area that had 9 slots for your plants to idle in.

We will improve on the game in the future and a UI rework is definitely planned. Hope you will give it another go then.
Thanks for trying it out!

Glad you liked them :D. We got a lot of feedback on the telegraphy side so we will definitely do an update there.
Regarding sound unfortunately we don't have very much experience so we decided to just focus on other things. But we will definitely include this as well in the future updates.

Thank you for trying out our game!

Thank you! We had this idea at the beginning of the jam and thought to give it a go. We're glad you liked it!

Really funny idea, loved nudging Jansson to grab his favorite cake around! Loved the ending of the story, the intros and physics used as well! Cool game!

It was really challenging having Janson roll upwards the hill but I managed to do so for the last cake in the last seconds!

I loved the intro of the game, hooked me right away! My reaction when I saw the first flower blooming was of complete astonishment!

Loved this idea and would be awesome to see the game finished! I completed all the levels available, good job on the graphics and readability of the puzzles!

I had fun playing it! Enjoyed the retro vibes I got from it, both aesthetic and sounds!
Pretty easy to understand what is happening and how to defend, gets harder pretty fast!
Enjoyed seeing your process on Twitter as well!

I was fun playing the game! I loved the colors and aesthetics used, pretty easy to understand what is happening. After I memorized which towers grew faster, it became easier to play.

Would have loved some visual icon or some UI elements that would make me more aware of how fast they will be fully grown, so I could target them with priority and have a smoother gameplay with fewer resets :D
Cool game!

I enjoyed playing the game!
I loved the colors you used for it, very easy to read! Also the snake is very cute and funny! Loved the simple graphics.

The Sfx of when the snake eats the apple is really pleasing to hear, gives a really rewarding feeling.

Good job with your first Game Jam! Keep going strong! :D

Hey, we would love to see you playing our Tower Defense game submitted for this GameJam!
We had not enough time to make a better tutorial so I'd like to let you know that you can merge the same type of turrets by drag&dropping them together to create a stronger one! ( Here is an example :) )

(Edit) Here is our game: https://tailcraft.itch.io/growth-td
Thank you very much, hope you will enjoy playing it! :D

Awesome! Glad to know you enjoyed playing the game! We plan to improve the tutorial and merging mechanics in the future! :D

Amazing, thank you very much for encouragement!

Thank you very much for your feedback! We are extremely happy you enjoyed playing the game! We plan on improving the tutorial area and adding sounds in the future. =)

Nice game, fits the theme and I enjoyed it a lot!

I got stuck at some point in the bushes but I managed to glitch my way out somehow.

The art was really nice, loved the background. The music also fits the game very well.

Good job!

Awesome game with such simple mechanics, yet it fits the theme so well!

I kept climbing and climbing and at a point I was wondering if it's infinitely generated or if it actually has an end. If there is I never got to it.

The artwork is also very nice.

Well done!

Great game, fits the theme perfectly and it's really fun!

If you plant to work in it further the only suggestion I can think of is to add multiple type of plants (besides the one that eats the fruits). This might add more mechanics to add to your brilliant puzzles :D

I played a bit of this, took me 15 min to finish it. Really fun! :D

I think it would be even more fun if you would have other challenges (or game modes) besides hitting the targets, like going through rings mid-air or having some "race" where you need to reach a destination within a time limit.

The jumping mechanic is extremely catchy. Would have preferred that the lilies disappear by the time I reach the ground again so I could jump in the same place twice. That would have made the jumping very seamless but even so it was very fun!

The colors are also veeeeery nice!

Good job!

Thank you very much for playing ! Did you try to drag & drop 2 of the same plants over the 3rd one? This is a little snippet that might help you:

If it does not work like this, let us know and we will start bug hunting! :D They hurt our plants, lol

Thank you very much! We did not manage to add a tutorial and more UI elements before deadline, but we plan on developing the game further ! :D

Thank you very much for trying the game! We are happy to know that you enjoyed playing it!

You can currently merge plants with no limit currently, like this:

- 3 of default tier 0 = 1 plant-turret of tier 2 .

- 3 plants of tier 2 merged together = 1 plant-turret of tier 3. And you can go even further like this, currently!

Hope it helps! We plan on continue adding features and fixing current issues with the game, after voting ends :D

Thank you for playing the game! We did not add any sound on the game for the jam currently, but we plan to add in the future versions! :)

Merging the towers should work via dragging and dropping the 2 plants of the same type on the chosen one to upgrade! You can check a snippet here :

If you have any other issues or feedback, let us know! :D

Just made an export for mac. Hope it works! :D

Thank you for this opportunity! Would be amazing to see our game played by you! It would be the first time we would see our game played on a stream!

Our submission for GoGodotJam is here https://tailcraft.itch.io/growth-td
Hope you'll enjoy playing it and cannot wait to see your reactions and feedback on it! 🌱
