Gravity Blade is a maximalist endless runner where you use swipes of your sword to change the direction of gravity while slicing through enemies. Jump from platform to platform, shifting gravity in the process as you rack up points and add to your combo!

This is the first release of this game, and feedback is appreciated! I may do a mobile release at some point.

Thanks for your interest!

Just rated yours! Here's mine: https://itch.io/jam/scream-jam-2023/rate/2330510

Really neat! I like how you got the player used to the lil rock guys before bringing out the big guns, I was definitely very startled. Great atmosphere too!

Sounds like fun! I just played your game, had a great time. Here's mine! https://itch.io/jam/scream-jam-2023/rate/2330510

Really awesome! I love how you set it up as an innocent experience before introducing a monster, it definitely caught me off guard. Also really love the lighting effects and the effects of the overlaid sprites (words, eyes, etc). Fun (and creepy) time!

Awesome, love the twist and the aesthetics are absolutely fantastic. I love the detail of the screen shown through the camera (I was expecting a you-can-only-see-the-ghost-in-the-camera twist, but this was much more creative!). I actually was more scared AFTER the [spoiler] happened, it just felt really eerie and quiet and freaky. Great job!

Just checked out your game, really enjoyed it!

Love it, the environments were really well done and I thought you did a great job of slowly building tension and fleshing out the horror aspect. Had a great time!

Haha so I actually developed this on Linux, but after the deadline I realized I messed up the Linux build and figured I shouldn’t tamper with it after the jam ended so I just removed it :( truly a shame, I promise it won’t happen again, please don’t disown me Linux users… but yeah, I also tested it with WINE lol

Glad to hear it!

Thank you!

Awesome, glad to hear the pacing worked out! I was worried about the longer beginning but I think it was important to set the scene. Thanks for playing!

Very nice, I like the atmosphere and everything! It was cool how it slowly unraveled and the tension slowly built.

Thank you! Played your game as well :)

Holy cow this was so fun. That pause menu artwork belongs in the Louvre. Thanks for creating such a fun time!

I really love the vibes you conveyed, and the story was very haunting! It was a great choice to base it off a short story. Great job!

This is really cool! I love the sound design, and I think you did a great job of achieving a feeling of powerlessness despite being inside a TI83000 robot mech haha

Haha, monster mash was a great fit too! Public domain is always a great choice, that was my favorite benefit of setting my game 100 years ago.

I love it! The weird dialogue is right up my alley, and the general art style is fantastic. The sprites are super expressive and you managed to utilize a cartoony art style within a creepy environment, which seems hard to do. It was really intriguing, and perfect for a game jam! Plus, always a treat to play a fellow godot game :)

You did a great job of defining the aesthetics right from the get-go, and I really loved the consistent style! Reminds me of the greatest movie ever conceived, Young Frankenstein ;)

This was super fun! The writing was really clever and hilarious, the music was great, and the visuals fit really well. It seamlessly moves between being hilarious and being scary. Very impressive!

For a first game, this is pretty great! The combat is fun, it really sells the idea of slide-slicing past enemies samurai-style. You could always go for some more horror elements, but as a fun gameplay-focused game, I had a good time!

So awesome! It took me a few tries but I got the legendary Bruce Willis ending eventually. Also, for the record, I love how you went above and beyond with the itch.io page decorations! Impressive managing to fit that into the jam. Loved it!

Really cool, I love the atmosphere and the art style. The flashlight battery depletion is also a great mechanic, really adds to the sense of urgency!

Awesome, I really liked the lighting effects and the limited field of vision. The atmosphere is top-notch!

This is super fun and unique haha, loved it! Reminds me of the smash bros stage with the mom in the background 💀

Awesome, I really love the aesthetic and the intro! It was definitely tough, but so were the games of that era, so it's honestly pretty appropriate. Great job!

I love the aesthetics, and the music slaps!

I love the lil racoon, especially the idle animation; very cute!

Awesome, I really like the world and society you've created, it's very intriguing! I promptly made sure to save the two non-birds and discard everything else :)

Awesome, I love the visuals! At first it seemed pleasant and not so scary, but by the time the second day rolled around I definitely sensed the horror aspect. Cool choice to use a farming simulator for horror, very unique and memorable!

This is a really great concept for a game jam! It definitely freaked me out a bit, and there was a lot of lingering dread. Great job!

Thanks, glad to hear all those aspects came through! I checked out your game as well, love it!

Thank you! Yeah, I was looking for more legible handwriting fonts but I didn't want to spend too much time searching, haha. Glad you liked it!

Woah, what a ride! I love the writing and the aesthetics, especially your use of bright colors while still being scary. Great job making it unique and weird in a memorable, positive way!

Thanks for this! Usually I try and include a web version, but mouse controls on web can get pretty weird.

Thank you! I’ll be sure to check out your game as soon as I have a chance!

Thanks! For the music, I used the YMCK Magical 8Bit Plugin with Garageband. You can use the plugin with any audio workstation, really. I recommend trying it out if you've never done 8bit music before, it's really fun because with classic 8bit you only get 3 notes at once percussion. Really pushes you creatively and makes you write stuff you usually wouldn't write. Thanks for playing!

Thank you! Sorry that bug slipped through, I never caught that, but glad you were able to enjoy nonetheless!

Nice! This is a really unique game, it does something very different from the other ones. I've seen lots of action games and collaboration platformers, but no cooking games yet! Great job in making the game simple but also fun, I found that it has a lot of character despite its simplicity. Nice work!
