It is a bit tricky, but try not to move diagonally. Instead, look where it shoots and just hold one direction to get away. (W,A,S, or D) Switch to another direction after every shot. After that, just avoid the circle explosions.

First download the file, and you should get a DigitalLogicSim(version).zip file.  (Assume "version" is your OS.)

A zip file is a file that usually has multiple files within it (and is useful for reducing size of the files.)

WINDOWS:
To extract the files from the .zip, you need to right-click the file in your file browser, then click "Extract All".

For other versions of Windows, you might have to install a tool, (such as 7-Zip or WinRAR), to extract the file.

LINUX:
If you are on Linux, either use commands in the Terminal, (like this) or if you are on a more user friendly version of Linux, (such as Linux Mint) simply right-click the file in the File Browser and click "Extract Here".

This might be a bit late, but on the Itch.io desktop application, you download the Windows version and run the game on Linux. After downloading the Windows version, run the game and select "DUST.exe".

It will either:

  • Run after a couple seconds.
  • Stay stuck at launching.

If it's stuck at launching, force close it by clicking on the game and clicking "Force Close" and try again. It will usually work the second time around for some reason.

By using one had to control left and right and the other to spam jump you can save some time.

By collecting the right one, then going left you can save some time.

Also I think you forgot to add a wall on the beginning as if you keep walking left instead of going into the hole you fall out of bounds.

This does look like a good concept for a game, some improvement could be made though.


The start screen in which you start the game has the character fall and make the title quickly go by and hard to read. I would recommend moving the elements down so that when the character falls it reveals the start button.

The start game button does not specify that you have to hover your mouse over it to select it. I would suggest making it so that the color of the text changes as your mouse hovers over the start game text and upon clicking it the game would start. 


The jumping seems a bit tight and hard to use at first but I did get used to the input, (which actually might be a good thing as it makes the game a bit more of a challenge)

The text seems a bit blurry, I would recommend using the Avenixel font as it is good for small-scale pixel games: https://fontesk.com/avenipixel-font/

The ending is good (Seeing the character jump up was neat) but it would be better if there were a way to go back to the main menu (like a button that says "Main Menu" at the corner.)

I would recommend that you make it so that getting to the end adds a variable which makes it so that when you go back to the main menu it adds some kind of trophy proving you beat the game.


If you are looking to get better at making graphics or more complicated sprites, I would recommend that you get Krita: https://krita.org/en/ It can be used to create more complex artwork (I have even made some backgrounds using it: https://wall.alphacoders.com/profile.php?id=209375)


I would recommend using a game engine called Godot instead of Construct 3, although it can be difficult to learn, Godot is free and open source, and can be used for more complex tasks.

Godot also has a form of Visual Scripting which means you don't fully have to know how to code to create a game.


Although it does have some problems, It is still good idea and concept. (I do apologize if this come of as rude, I just wanted to give input on the game.)

I used Z and X with arrow keys.

Lumpy Touch said at the end of his video briefly that there was a soft-lock at Stage 2. I got stuck on it too.
