Game constantly fades to black screen. Will work for a few moments, then blacks out. Is this playable?

Don't watch someone play it. Do it yourself.

This game was an amazing sleeper. Played Mothered, and loved the unsettling nature of Mother, the gritty neon aesthetic, and the hidden paths. Months later, I learned of the Demo on the PSX Horror Disk, and I had to check it out, and I am glad I did.

This game (and tbh all of Enigma Studio) is an example in story telling and world building. You know something is off from the get-go, but what you assume immediately is only the surface layer.

I admit at times the degrading graphics did become a bit much, and I started to feel a little off, but I still love it. Something about a game breaking down while you play it allures me (i.e Pony Island, Inscription).

I will say, Mothered: Home did have a few moments where I had become soft-locked and unable to progress. Speaking to mother on a certain day while sleeping through the week caused the bed to disappear too early, which meant I couldn't advance. Same with attempting to enter Mother's room on Friday evening in the Demo. Game locks you in, but you can't hear the argument with Mother and Father to progress, and need to restart. It could be though that I had missed some alternate triggers.

Overall, an amazing experience, and one that spans several games.

Can't wait for Echostasis. Keep up the awesome work y'all.

Checked this out on the 2022 PSX Demo Disc. Thought it might give me some Hydro Thunder vibes with horror elements. It did not. Controls feel super loose, like your skating along ice, which is odd when you're flying in the air. The button to repair the ship also brings up the pause menu, and that's when using a controller as recommended. Over all doesn't feel the best to play.

A ship racing game with horror-adjacent themes. Needs some work.

dude is still working on Echostasis. Posts updates on Twitter occasionally. Been waiting myself ever since I discovered Enigma Machine.
