Excellent game, I thoroughly enjoy games that introduce some depth of philosophy as well as inner psychology and interprets it in a unique way.
I'd do some housekeeping on some of the sound levels, some were pretty jarring to the earballs but mostly okay. I'd balance out some of the fuzz and music with footsteps and etc, maybe lessen the harshness as it was... a bit rough without turning everything down for recording.
All in all, I'm looking forward to exploring your other game, and I want to see more in this theme because I don't think there's enough of this type of surreal horror-like approach in games.
Even here in 2023, this is a banger of a short dreaminality experience. I'm VERY much looking forward to playing Boundless Dreams. LOVED the soundtrack and I hope for more unique tracks.
I would say, for this style, I'd like to see a little more interactivity with the environment. Maybe some different dialogue up to 2-3 times when interacting with the same entity.
I VERY much enjoyed the dream explanations provided, thanks for sharing those as it put alot of the dreams into context but also allowed for a personal connection as I've had several dreams that are very similar. If not of content, then the feels. The atmosphere. VERY similar.
Aside from interactivity which in and of itself is nitpicky, I have nothing but good to say about this game. I'll be more thorough with Boundless Dreams, looking forward to doing a playthrough of that and enjoying the ride.
Thanks, I'm excited to play all the games you've developed :D
Some glitches here and there mostly with the doors opening and closing but those are nitpicky things. I gotta say, after
I very much enjoyed that there was more interactivity with the environment. Perhaps, hide a thingy or two in those for a good scare? *nudge nudge, evil grin*
I enjoyed the game play and look forward to seeing more from Sam! Thanks for helping with the dev of the game Niv :D
There were a couple of things I would've done a bit differently because I did experience a little bit of confusion when playing. Most of it was the fun kinda confusion like 'omg the dev be playin me toodaye!' but aside from that, i want to see a longer and more involved game.
I really enjoy this art style as well, and how copper cube 6 handles the game mechanics. Not gonna lie, am considering getting CC6 and playing with it, but I already have Blender and UE4 that I need to learn before I try to put anything else on me plate.
Please keep it up, you and Sam deserve many delicious coffees :D
I enjoyed the concept, I see some elements were used in the newer Deppart game and I appreciate that. I can see awesome development from the time that this was made to the time that Deppart was released and I really hope to see more games from you and look forward to more intense yet quirky and intrinsic horror experiences.
*AHEM*
Joking aside, great little rollercoaster ride! I would be very interested to know more about the Deppart universe as there were a lot of questions to ask in between just surviving.
A couple collision nitpicks but aside from that, great game and great atmosphere. I'm impressed with just how many spoopy feels I got from the soundtrack and lighting and buildup and I really hope to see more like this.
Also liked the sense of humor, gotta have a laugh or two when ya about to die after all :P
Would've liked to seen more story details throughout the room and interactions with the room, a couple details would've been most excellent but given that it was created in 48 hours, might be something you may consider if you come back to this project and update with a couple things here or there.
Thanks for a great little experience :) I enjoyed this.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere, I think the sound is on par though my earballs got a good workout at a couple spots but it wasn't overbearing which is veddy noice <3
Given the timeframe and quality of the provided game, I think this is good. More storyline blurps would be nice, and... though maddening, keeping up the horror of only having one sheet of TP near the pot would be excellent. That's the true horror in this game imo... Things happened because there waren't enough toilet paper to cover taco night the previous day.... :kekw:
Either which way, a lighting fix for the holy bulb would be nice, and aside from that, great playthru. I liked the tension buildup and puzzle aspect, always a good combo in horror games. Keep it up.
I look forward to playing more of your games.
Hey there,
Played the game and enjoyed the experience, I do like that there was a specific atmosphere presented with the camera style and the sound design. I do think that the text boxes could be even a scoche larger, but that's what zoom and crop in vid editing are for ;)
I hope that you continue to pursue games of this type in the future, I actually enjoy and dwell on games that don't deliver a predictable jumpscare a lot longer than I do those that provide the jumpscare or absolute finishers that answer 'what happened to the protag?' I also dwell on games that have a solid atmosphere and unique presentation that invokes thought and imaginative pondering like this game does.
Even though it would've been nice to seen something as mentioned in the provided vid, I still think this is a nicely developed jam game. Keep up the good work!
Tryna narrate olde english tho was a little difficult... that was the horrific part of it for me, tryna pronounce and speaketh as such. :kekw:
jokes aside, I would've loved a bit more lore and world building such as being able to read a few pages outta some of the books in the library to give a feel of what the library held since they were highly regarded and treasured in the middle ages.
The atmosphere is on par, I would've liked to see more environment though, mostly because I'm interested in this world.
Really good gameplay, I'd say work on the sound balancing a bit (course, could be subjective and therefore a literal grain of salt), and I really look forward to more from you with all the feedback being given.
I would thoroughly enjoy a longer game with more SCP-esque aspects to it.
Thanks for making this, again I look forward to more :) will support as able. <3
