Oh, what a surprise! I'm glad you're still kicking old man. Yeah I've stuck to gamedev, I started developing my own game to release on Steam on my own, we should keep in touch though!
And I definitely wasn't referring to my experience with you guys, despite some quarrels here and there I thoroughly enjoyed working on the games we made together. I just thought it would be a relevant/common thing to happen to jammers that may be relatable (hell, before I met you guys I had joined two or three groups that were a complete housefire). Recently I even got to team up with two amazing people to make Mouse Musculus, and we had a blast! We even ended up getting featured on videogamedunkey's stream.
Oh and for the shitty games thing it was just a joke :p cause that guy always prefers playing those games instead of cool co op games with me and my friends.
Anyway, hmu on Discord if you wanna catch up and talk some more. Have a good one!
Wow, what a really incredibly game. Sometimes I look at jam entries and I feel like they more so "can be classified as games", but aren't necessarily fun or repeatable; this one is definitely not in that category. Very entertaining gameplay that can definitely get very addictive. You need some time to take everything in, and I think this game would benefit a ton from introducing the various mechanics gradually rather than all at once, should you decide to keep working on this further (which I think you should). I didn't really get a good grasp of the modes and I sure as hell wasn't good at deploying the troops well and managing the resources properly (at one point I ended up with -99 energy. No idea how that happened, but I knew I was doomed from there). My only point of criticism was that it's not easy to tell that the small yellow things are enemies that need to be destroyed unless you're told directly. Other than that, greatly presented, polished, surprisingly deep original gameplay that fits the theme well. Amazing work.
thank you for the feedback! We didn't wanna overscope too much since it's the first time we're working together and also the first jam for two of us, but you're definitely right in that the gameplay loop is very bare bones. We had other ideas to potentially implement that eventually got scrapped so we could focus on polishing the core compact gameplay as much as possible
the ps1 graphics are something that I never would've expected to like as much as I did. The bloodsplatter effect was glorious and the overall theme and comedy of the game were super super fun. the chairlift mode also came completely out of nowhere and the snowmobile mode was by far my favorite. Only thing that could make this game better would be being able to do a backflip when jumping off a ramp
When I first saw clips of this game I was like "what the fuckkk" because I couldn't believe how good it looked. And it indeed looked this good, crazy. The gameplay was incredibly fun and engaging and the movement felt super smooth. My only complaint was that the enemies would blend in with the background a bit too much, and even when they had different elements, because of the high level of action and movement it was a bit hard to see them and aim at them. Overall super awesome game though
Astoundingly original concept, I didn't know what to expect coming in and the entire game was just hella fun. Very clean graphics and sound as well. Big ups on Maenwobri for leveling up mid fight and soloing the final king battle at lv11. Also the steven fight made me crack up. Oh and the chat, really nice touch
Hello, the team behind Pluto's Revolution finalized an update to fix most of the issues that were addressed here:
- The Performance issues are now solved, meaning that the Arcade mode should fully function without lagging or the music cutting out
- The Asteroids no longer have the annoying jittering effect
- Level 2 difficulty has been toned down, with some obstacles removed and the size and attraction force of the rockets decreased
- Styx (the smallest moon)'s Speed has been decreased (from 11 to 10) and Deceleration increased (from 3 to 4) making it easier to control and less slippery.
- Fixed a bug where surviving 10 seconds as Charon in Arcade mode made you indestructible
Thank you to everyone who rated our game and give us some very nice feedback so we could improve the game even further. See you all at the Results announcement. If you wanna get a go at the Arcade now that it's fixed, here's the high score to beat:
thank you! we put a lot of time in conceptualizing before beginning development. Maybe that's also why we ended up not having time to fix some of the performance issues that ended up occurring, they only really happen in the browser version and it was around 3am my time (couple hours before the deadline) when we ended up making the final build. Sorry for the inconvenience but I'm glad you enjoyed the game
