Hi everyone! I'm Penny, a ttrpg designer, editor and sensitivity reader :) I mostly make cozy, horror and folkpunk games inspired by my own (Romani) culture's folklore and mythos. I love all aspects of horror genre but for this jam I'm planning to make a short and punchy solo game using the theme of isolation :) I was super excited to find this jam that combines festive and horror - two of my fave themes to combo! - and I'm excited to see what everyone comes up with for it! :D I'll be putting community copies up of the game; if they run out and you want one please shout at me and I'll put more up - I try to make sure there's always community copies available for all but it's sometimes hard to notice when they run dry :)
Heyy! I JUST finished my game! XD It's a paid game because I'm donating all profits from my games to charity atm - but there are community copies available - is that ok? - if there's no copies available you can poke me and I'll add more so there's enough for everyone in the jam who wants one , otherwise they generate through sales will that be alright? :)
FIVE STARS!!! I LOVE IT!!! This is an absolutely gorgeous game - whimsical and story-focused it will appeal to anyone who loves the magic and mystery of the natural world. Being family-friendly is a beautiful bonus and I can well imagine groups of friends and families creating beautiful stories and memories together as their nature spirit characters strive to protect mother forest. A real little gem of a game!
Thankyou so very much to everyone who took part - I think all the entries look so heart warming and I'm really touched by the way each of you has engaged so deeply with the themes of the jam. I really hope everyone has had fun and that you will now take some time to look at, enjoy and engage with the other entries! I will be showcasing everyone's entry throughout June - some on my blog and some on youtube - and will let you know when your review/showcase is up. Hugest thanks again and I hope you all enjoy your summer! :) xx
I just changed the Jam closing date to end Sunday (2nd) instead, just because I don't want anyone to be stressing at the last minute. So, while it'd still be great if everyone can get their entries in my the end of today, if you're a couple of hours late or something comes up last minute, hopefully this just takes the stress off! xxx
Your wish is my command! One discord server - it may be a bit quiet at first so please bear with while I wave it about at people https://discord.gg/kTGRs7K2
I have updated the description to make it clearer that submissions are welcome from anyone and everyone regardless of background, ethnicity or culture. Although this is a celebration in aid of drawing attention to GRTHM and I especially welcome submissions from the GRT community, it is nevertheless open to everyone. I have also changed the wording the rules slightly to make them clearer - using myths and legends from other cultures is fine if you do so respectfully but using real life events (such as specific war crimes for example) which are not a part of your own history is not appropriate. I hope that's a bit clearer but if you have any questions please do reach out and ask :)
