Thanks for playing on the stream, it was fun and valuable! I plan to update the game with a bit more polish and content, would love to hear your thoughts for the next version.

Nice spin-off! ;) Also fits well within the theme. I like that you made the enemies faster, gives a good difficulty challenge.

The fact that you can somewhat freely move within the lanes is not better then original pac-man in my opinion. Was this a game design decision or was this easier to program?

Thanks! I plan to work on the game a little bit more to add some more polish and content. I'll let you know and am curious about your opinion!

Yes, I have a Tobii eyetracker 4c so hopefully it will work well with this game. Thank you!

Thanks for the feedback and for hosting this jam! I was just able to submit the game in the current state with current gameplay duration but I hope to make it more polished and longer.

I liked the minimalist visuals and audio. The levels were nicely designed and had a good difficulty for a game jam game (which is, not too difficult).

Is it correct there are only 5 levels or so and no end screen or something else?

I didn't like the end of level flickering, it was uneasy on my eyes.

Overall great job on finishing the game!

That's a great suggestion, I could make some rooms totally dark for extra scary atmosphere and that would make the flash light indeed more useful. Thanks for playing!

Actually got some light goosebumps from this game, great job! The visuals, audio and cinematics are well put together. Only thing I didn't like is that all sounds except for player voice are quite soft/low. I couldn't understand what the demon said.

My game is quite similar in terms of gameplay although not as polished, perhaps you should check it out as well ;)

Great little game for a game jam. It was easy to pick and play and I think the duration was good.

One thing I would've liked to see was some kind of ending cinematic or reward screen.

Was able to finish the game! Congrats on submitting!

Some texture on the blue background would help to convey movement, now it's not always clear that I'm moving.

Great combination of audio and visuals!

It was a bit hard to understand for me. I was able to pick up a few white orbs in the first scene but I always die by some black orb seemingly coming out of nowhere.

All in all awesome game jam entry.

Thank you for your detailed feedback! My idea is to make this game playable with an eye tracker at a later moment so for example people who are paralyzed from the neck down can still play this game. And I thought it somewhat fitted the no UI challenge as mouse and keyboard can also be seen as UI.

I also wanted to add more polish to the game such as room lighting up, but it was already a big challenge to make a working within the time I had.

Thank you for playing and the feedback. The game is meant to be played with an eye tracker so you can aim and shoot by only using your eyes. But I can understand this is less ideal when you could use mouse and keyboard instead.

How to play this game? I can only move to the right a little bit until I face a gap that is too large to (double) jump.

Edit: Ah , the game is not working when playing it full screen on a 1440p monitor. When I made the game window smaller, the level chunks did spawn properly.

Congrats on submitting your game!  Perhaps you should only give player points when moving forward? Now you also get points when moving backwards or pushing against a wall. Other then that, solid gameplay and level chunk design.

Great application of the theme! I first didn't properly read that I should use F to switch characters but after that it was fun the play this cute puzzle game.

Would've loved to hear some audio in the game.

Congratulation on submitting your game! You game has nice level design and the movement felt good.

I couldn't get past the part where the boulder spawns, at the end of the slope there are only other boulders so I always die.

Also some more visual contrast would help, especially the spikes are hard to notice (perhaps due to non HD mode?)

Congrats on joining and submitting your game to the jam!

I could shoot the first target but afterwards I think the game doesn't behave as intended? I couldn't see any targets on screen anymore and when I shoot the camera moves in all kinds of directions.

I played on firefox browser.

Congrats on finishing the game! Some  feedback:

  • Moving felt quite fast and snappy
  • I like the colored particle trails
  • I found the last sentence about no UI in the ending cinematic funny  ;)
  • the overall goal and gameplay was not very clear to me. It wasn't obvious to me that I can damage the thing with the shooting red dot
  • I didn't understand the purpose of the red dot left of the rotating thing
  • I would like to continuously shoot by holding the mouse button, instead of having to click for each bullet (better for avoiding RSI)
  • You could add some stars or other particles in the background so you can more clearly see when you are moving and in what direction
  • The shield didn't seem to be in the exact same direction as my mouse pointer

Hope you find my feedback useful and you had fun during the jam!

Thanks for the feedback!

At first I thought this game would be too simple game-play wise but it actually is quite a brain twister for the fact you have to get the energy every 3 seconds while shooting the enemies.

I did have to read from the description I had to grab the blue cubes to gain energy, this wasn't apparent to me from the game itself, probably because it's quite hectic from the start.

All in all I had good fun playing this and managed to get a score of 1680.

Game works really well and good playtime for a game jam game!

I think a countdown timer sound/music at 10 and/or 3 seconds would add a lot to the suspense.

Quite fun to play and nice visuals and audio! Also good amount of enemy types and behavior. I got a score of 320 at Wave 11.

I feel the enemy projectiles on death are a bit too strong. Instead of focusing on killing opponents I'm mostly focused on not killing anything until they are clumped up and then kill them one by one, otherwise it's way to dangerous.

Well done for finishing the game in such a short time span! It's pretty clear and all well working. I especially like how the voice pitch gets higher and higher!

It's a bit buggy and unpolished but I like the idea and execution a lot. Very creative and experimental game perfect for a game jam. Also the character animation looks very smooth!

Very cute and simple game, I liked playing it! It wasn't visually clear to me at the that you need to evade the orange pointy objects. Also having some visual feedback of the timer on or around the cat would help.

Overall the game works well and runs smoothly!

Haha that's not a bad idea! Didn't think of that myself yet. Keep on developing and jamming and you will get better with 3d!

Thanks! I'll try to find/create clearer icons for a possible post-jam update.

Well done for finishing! Yeah I tried to create a good balance with the item dropping although maybe you get a bit too little at the end.

Thanks for playing! I was a bit short on time for adding many enemy types but maybe I'll add some post-jam.

Great concept and implementation of the theme! I feel the game is a bit held back by execution and balancing. Instead of doing math, i just spam the 1,2 and 3 buttons as you can shoot very fast. I would suggest to lower the fire rate and also reduce enemy spawning so I really need to be a bit more calculated ;)

The sound FX I found funny at the beginning but get's annoying quickly.

All in all can be a great game with some small improvements and balancing.

Great entry! I like the physics of the blocks and how sticky they are, very well "balanced" ;)

Also fits both well in the theme and the geometric idea of the jam.

I like this game a lot. Very polished and well working in multiple ways and difficulty was perfect for a jam game.

One small critique is that the sound clip for reaching the door is a bit vague/soft and doesn't evoke a positive "win" feeling in itself.

I like the way the building crumbles into little pixelized pieces. I usually was able to destroy about half the tower. Couldn't find any specific strategy to increase my score.

Really cute and smooth game! The music helps a lot for the relaxed atmosphere. I know you already programmed a lot of features in this game, but it would be even cooler if the probing included some mini-game to increase your changes. For example just a simple timing game where you have to click at the right moment.

Also some victory sound or visual feedback would be nice when having collected everything.

Overall very fun game and well polished!

Quite immersive world with the spooky music and lighting! Good that you finished the game in such a state that you can complete it although I can imagine you had more things planned.

Great visuals and atmosphere! You added a lot to the game in a short time span! Like others are saying, make the text appear faster or skippable.

When I defeated the gate boss the text was stuck at "C", I think this is a bug.

Overall great entry!

Cool to see you added animation sequence and various ambient sounds in the world! I interacted with the time machine item but didn't know what to do afterwards.

Hope you had fun and that the jam was a good learning experience!

edit: ah, I had to press T to teleport. Afterwards I got stuck at the lost grenade part.

I visually like the isometric view but it does make it a bit more unintuitive to control. I also like the sounds and music although the rock breaking sound is a bit short and harsh.

In my first run I got to day 9. Well done on finishing the game!
